With Klopp, he found a balance with giving him some freedoms and also Trent's long passing has always been key to playing really quick, direct football.

Guardiola would have bombed Trent out, I have no doubt about that. He wouldn't stand for someone who can weaken the structure of the team just because they can provide an assist at any moment. 

I don't know what sort of coach Slot is, but there are coaches who won't be arsed about finding a way to make someone like Trent happy. And then also, he could simply decide to leave, as said above.

A lot of big decisions to be made. I genuinely fear about the authority, or lack of it, that Slot may have our ‘big’ players, who haven’t played like ‘big’ players lately anyway.

 

He's a top, top player who can effect any game but the way he jogs around a lot of the time doesn't suit any position.

He has a choice, really. His contract situation means he could force himself out if he wants. Maybe that's what he should do. Maybe I don't know him enough, but he strikes me as the sort of player who will become lazier and lazier if he stays in a comfort zone. Alternatively, maybe the new manager is what he needs.

That is ultimately the problem. We have to form a coherent attack around the prime age morons we have but it's hard because they are morons. The last 2 years it's been mostly Salah and Darwin exchanging passes to eachother, Diaz running down blind alleys and the other 2 score off the bench sometimes. There's been no attempt at building anything except to have 5 players that can threaten the goal, so sometimes they will tire other teams out.

The ones we keep, we have to get profiles that complement them and actually build something.

It's funny when everyone wants to get rid I have to say he should probably stay, but I think he should probably stay. 

Salah is already going (hopefully) so we'll be changing something anyway and I just don't think we should sell low here.

Unless he does us a favour and force himself out, he is staying. You can't literally sell everybody and Salah is really the one that we have to sell because we are in a position to do so with his contract.

We're going to have to take our medicine with Nunez and Diaz, unless Slot hates them or they want to go. Bigger thing is letting Salah and Robertson go, plus Endo.
