  1. Thinking size intrinsically means more durable is about where your knowledge of this sort of stuff is.
  2. I often think when we see clubs spend 100m on a forward they must think that's the sort of player that can win them matches on their own. The business we've done is way smarter; we've found forwards who generally were productive on their own at their former clubs, and had the mentality where Klopp could improve them. So we pay like 40m and they become much better players. That's why Darwin is annoying. Yeah, strikers cost a lot now, but when we go on a limb on a player like that and pay a record fee, when we never really did that with forwards, you want a guy that will win you a big game with his talent, not just another volume shot monster.
  3. Yeah, posting the goal tally without context is dumb. The attack is built under a very modern philosophy; take advantage of 5 subs by having 5 good options and have all 5 options (less so Gakpo, but he's still capable) be able to create shooting opportunites and chances on their own. Over the course of a season, that in theory allows you to score goals consistently, even if the finishing is not great, just by sheer volume of opportunities. And when you have forwards who can create stuff on their own, they're usually explosive enough to shoot and create from good areas as well, so that increases the goals as well. Unfortunately though, in singular games and especially big games, you need people who are clinical. And you look at our record against big teams in England and in those games, they don't make it happen enough. The idea was similar with Mané, Firmino and Salah and we would often say the same thing about the finishing anyway but they were just better overall players than the ones we have now. I just don't like any of them individually, except Gakpo, but he is the least effective of the 5. The compensation is we have 5 now instead of 3. The reality is I'm not sure there's a fix. A player like Son who is always overperforming on the finishing, and you can count on that, is really rare.
  4. Said it many times, this attack is about the group and how many times you can have all 5 of them impact games. Code is right about him this season. People can't honestly be looking at the other 4 on an individual basis and think Salah's an issue. He is the best by a long way. But that's totally separate about whether he should or will go elsewhere this summer.
  5. I imagine Gyokeres. From what I've seen, he looks pretty similar to Nunez to me, honestly.
  6. What should've happened happened with all the run ins except the Undertaker, who was not relevant whatsoever.
  7. Was Stone Cold not available? The Undertaker made no sense there.
  8. That said, Rock will no doubt face Roman at some Mania. Would just prefer if his shtick wasn't rehearsed catchphrase babyface guy.
  9. There's juice in this "final boss" board member heel character he's playing. Obviously, he'll also get cheers but it's way more interesting. If he turns on Reigns, I just don't see the point. Like cool, he's another legend babyface who will burry people when he's around.
  10. Yeah, I think the best team will continue winning games and will win the league because they're the best team. If you don't think that, good for you.
  11. Look, if you want to tell yourself that scoring 38 and giving up 4 in 2024 in the league is not impressive and doesn't give the impression they can get it done, feel free.
  12. You might want to look at their results in the 2nd half of the season, mate. It's not too shabby.
  13. I responded to this sort of post, our xG wasn't that high pre-mistake. Not scoring more than 1 was not a ridiculously bad outcome. I'll come back at you with this; being a not stats guy, what do you make of the crippling momentum loss a mistake like that inflicts on a team?
  14. It's not my human nature. It's a read on the game. That goal after that mistake is about as blatant a turning point as you'll see in a game. Complete control, not letting your opponent a single shot, and then subsequent to the event, everyone shits themselves. If you want to just ignore that because you think it makes you a better person, that's fine, but it's also a bit deluded. The finishing is a part of it. I don't think it's remotely as big a part of it as that mistake. And I find it bizarre people will gas up our forwards but then shit on them for this kind of performance. This is who they've been all along.
  15. Look, I get people will defend Quansah, especially the players and manager. Plus human nature, you don't want to blame one person, I get that. And, I like him. I've liked him since pre-season. He's fantastic. This game's on him.
  16. Also, Rock was in no way exposed and worked an acceptable match, didn't look like he got hurt, etc... The show was just aight, though. Lynch-Ripley was good. Intercontinental title was good. Main event was decent. The rest felt like meaningless filler. Won't be hard to do better tonight.
  17. I mean this is all setting up for Rhodes to overcome everything tonight to make his victory even sweeter and it allows for people to show up in his corner as well.
  18. An tha has absolutely demolished Code there.
  19. Weird how we missed chances in the 1st half and this did not propel them to successfully shoot at our goal.
  20. You can blame who you want, only one person gave Man United hope in that game.
  21. Maybe not based on probability, but based on the way they are playing it feels possible.
  22. Nunez and Diaz are unbelievably brainless. It's a testament to their physical ability and desire that they've gotten to where they've gotten.
  23. I think they're better than City. City have the easier schedule, though, so maybe that could be the difference.
