    Shout out Sergi Canos.

Man City - the new bitters?

I actually like Guardiola but he's the shittest front runner ever. He has zero swagger. It's all false modesty and awkward bravado with him. Mostly because the deck has always been stacked in his favour and his brilliance is only half the reason his teams succeed. You imagine sweat dripping down his shiny head when he was giving that quote.

    Ibrahima Konaté

It's the same thing as Mané.

    Ibrahima Konaté

Big, French black guys don't just play in Ligue 1, mate. No, it's just funny because we've had mentions of Sakho and Mangala in this thread. I was just thinking about other big black guys we could mention that may or may not play like him and that we could compare him to because they're all big, French and black. Sylvain Distin, perhaps. Kurt Zouma, another one.

I want to see some Jimbo Pearce and Mel Reddy "Naby Keita can be like a new signing" articles this summer. I want to get riled.

    Ibrahima Konaté

Is there another big, French black guy we can compare him to?

I'd get rid of Keita by any means necessary. Loan, cut price deal, whatever. But I think the reality is that we'll stick to a valuation or he's staying.

Not signing a midfielder would simply be a numbers thing. We have 7, and no matter how unreliable some of those are, that is still a sufficient number. It's not surprising we'd allegedly have to get rid of one (besides Gini) to sign one. It's bullshit but it's not a surprise.

He's playing in the u21 Euros, no?

Those informations about our plans in midfield are as annoying as they are predictable. Have to hope Pearce has been misdirected.

It will be very interesting to see how we navigate that.

    Alberto Moreno

Given what the fans thought of him after a couple years, I cringed a bit at his tributes to the club after the game. Fair enough if he liked it here.

    Ozan Kabak

I'd keep him as an investment, if anything. It would be easy to strongarm Schalke for a discount and then even if we didn't rate him, we could flip him for a profit if we wanted. But I'm sure there's also the fact that this wouldn't be mega ethical or nice.

    Summer 2021 transfer thread.

It's very possible when you think about the fact that Konate will give us 4 first team CB's (5 with Phillips), while Fabinho won't be an option at CB anymore like he was this season and Thiago replaces Gini numerically. If we can't flush Keita, I bet there's a chance we don't sign a midfielder.

If I was signing Ikone, I would sign a striker as well.

    Summer 2021 transfer thread.

Ikone is not at all similar to Osimhen and Pepe. The numbers should not be compared. In the event we would sign Ikone, he would play in behind of Mane, Salah and Jota. It would be comparable to Shaqiri in positioning.

Conte out at Inter. Truly great manager but seems almost impossible to work with.

    Summer 2021 transfer thread.

Ikone needs to improve the end product, but the bad goal numbers are a bit misleading if people don't know what kind of player he is. He's a lot more #10 than forward, although he has played striker before with a partner and on the wing. His style is more as the ball progresser that plays behind a striker.

    Summer 2021 transfer thread.

He is indeed a bit frustrating to watch and wasteful. But he's also been touted as Dortmund's favoured Sancho replacement and they know what they're doing. He does have some unique qualities. Is very quick but plays more between the lines than out wide. His pace and acceleration in the middle of the pitch is very dangerous. As a counter attacking player, he's hard to stop.

I don't know if the problem with Konaté is even the injuries. The fact he's played little football for the past 2 seasons and will now be expected to play at the highest level for a top team will be tough. You have to hope Virg, Joe and Matip will be able to make the transition easier by being fit to start the season.
