It's not really that bewildering, most of the policies you describe above are all based on neoliberalism & capital. It's quite normal to disagree with politicians about some things & agree with them about others. This dumbed down, polarised World we find ourselves in says there are no grey areas but there are, loads of them. I would say Starmer's main problems as PM are that he has no charisma, no backbone, no real principles. He's also clearly in the pocket of big business like 99% of the cunts.
