On Wednesday Fifa unveiled the Chinese consumer electronics firm Hisense as its first sponsor for next year’s Club World Cup. It will show advertising over VAR checks during the tournament, which is scheduled to run from 15 June to 13 July

I seem to remember predicting this when VAR came in & I hoped I was going to be wrong.

Excuse me, but what the fuck is a terrorist manual?

And more importantly how does it make you a terrorist if you have one?

People dont become either a chef, mechanic or footballer just because they own a book about it.

    Spot on as usual, Code.

Having a Gordon Ramsay cookbook is exactly the same as having an Al Qaeda training manual.

But his parents are apparently heavily involved in their local church and he was allegedly a choir boy.

He wouldn't be the first non-Muslim converted to this form of extremism.

  4. If people are going about murdering in the name of some higher goal, then I think establishing that they are connected and discussing the problem is productive.

The constant shouts of 'Racist' every time this stuff is brought up are as unhelpful as the 'Send them back' stuff.

The discussion should be moot, what people seem to be saying is 'if we'd have known it was terrorism then we'd have been justified in smashing up town centres and trying to burn innocent people to death, and all those who subsequently did have been wrongfully convicted."

That's not how the law, or indeed society works (or should).

The fact we're having such discussions at all shows you how far we've fallen.

I don't think shutting the conversation down or saying it is 'moot' is the way forward here.

As far as I can see, the debate on here is pretty considered and well thought out generally & no one is even remotely saying the rioting was justified.

That's just plainly and demonstrably untrue.

I tend to stay away from these threads generally so probably overstepped the mark a bit there, apologies.

Certainly the last couple of pages on here are applicable though.

And no time at all stopping Islamist riots - because the Islamists don't have the numbers.

I don't necessarily disagree with what you're saying but your complete inability to comment negatively at all on any sort of Islamic issue is interesting.

There is more than one problem going on here & they are only going to get worse with our government supporting that shite in the middle east.

  8. I suspect Slot will ring the changes here and we'll go out.

I'm torn on the League Cup these days. It's great to get to the final & win but it's also possibly a blessing in disguise to go out early given the amount of games (including internationals) most of the players play.

Trips to the south coast on a Wednesday night probably not ideal for people on Merseyside either.

The authorities said that the murders weren't a terrorist incident.

    That's still the case.

The nuances in there are a bit much for the public I think.

He'd been making poison & reading Al Qaeda manuals before he murdered a load of kids. Them saying he is not a terrorist is likely even worse than stating he is, in terms of the reaction it might provoke.

At the time I thought Havertz goal being disallowed was harsh but looking again its a foul on Dom, possibly handball (I don't even know what the rules are anymore) and arguably a high foot.

The fact its sent Gooners into a meltdown sweetens the deal

He blew up about eight seconds before they put it in the net, half the players had stopped playing.

I wasn't even watching them play as he was standing with his arm up the whole time. Them moaning about that is absolutely ridiculous.

He needs to be dealt with. Choose, or give us your most inventive solution,

I've gone with the Code spreadsheet torture although I'd quite like to do him & his brother like the end of Casino.

  12. That's a good result that.

I thought we were OK for 10 minutes between the two early goals & then for most of the second half but the last 20 minutes of the first half we were awful & unfortunately I think Robertson looks finished at this level. He's been largely shite for both Liverpool & Scotland for months now.

Is it just me or is it hard to get excited about any potential title race that we’re in with the soulless void of Man City in the background of everything?

Today should feel like more of an occasion than it currently does. As I said, maybe it’s just me.

It's hard to get excited about Football full stop. Oil state clubs, VAR, a massacred European Cup, Gary Neville, xG etc. etc. The whole thing is a pile of shite.

    Three simple questions.

    1. Are we currently above Arsenal in the league?

    2. Will we be above Arsenal in the league after the game on Sunday?

    3. Since Arsenal are the better team, who are all these Arsenal players you would like to have in our first 11?

    1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. Football is a team game, questions like that are infantile & I leave that sort of shite to numpties like Neville & Carragher.

It's a fair point that we are the form team going into the game but they are the better side & have proved it over the last two years.
