  1. He's done really well. I suspect he will end up at an English club in the future if he wants it. I think the club definitely want a manager who can front up and talk about anything and everything. Both Klopp and Rodgers are great communicators except the latter talks shite. Most Italians can understand English but the spoken proficiency varies.
  2. It would be great if the club are negotiating with Nagelsmann behind the scenes and using other names as a smokescreen. He's already turned down Chelsea over recruitment so clearly quite prepared to only take a job he feels is right. Sounds like his issues at Bayern were less coaching and tactics and more him being a bit horny according to our own Babbel. https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/julian-nagelsmann-girlfiend-problem-bayern-munich-markus-babbel/bltf3dcb8fa867b3770
  3. I voted Inzaghi but there is zero interest from the club.
  4. I posted this in the other thread probably a better place to post it as Amorim is being touted as our number one target. Apparently 10 of the 18 teams in that league are below 300 in club rankings. How much does that prepare a manager!
  5. Saudi 26th. The reason why the Portuguese League is ranked low is 10 of the 18 teams who play in that league are ranked below 300. A lot of easy easy games in that league to play.
  6. The Portuguese league is a league full of bums. Basically it's a player trafficking operation. I'm not buying all this hype around managers from that league. Get me a manager who has managed in a proper league please and won some stuff.
  7. Pay money for a manager shit. I don't know much about this Amorim but a quick read of his wiki says he never talks about refs. I give him 12 months of Howard Webb and his crooked friends before he is compiling a dossier.
  8. The last time Southgate began a season managing in the Premier League -- Klopp had just been appointed Dortmund manager and Obama had yet to become president. Be strange if even a mediocre Premier League club appointed him.
  9. Trent and Henderson share the same agent, Trents brother right!. I wonder if Trent thinks Henderson had sound representation.
  10. Liverpool 4 Manchester United 0 September 1990.
  11. My intial thought was he would be wise to continue at Leverkusen for at least another year, it does seem underpriced in people's thinking. If one argument is we don't want Xabi if he goes to Bayern, I'd say I'm not so keen at a manager who jumps ship after 18 months. If he's able to keep his squad together at Leverkusen surely that would be enticing for him. I don't see it as him bottling the chance to come here but loyalty to his current club players and supporters.
  12. Is it too early to call for Richard Hughes sacking.
  13. Could play a bit couldn't he, proper attacking player. I watched the highlights against Wimbledon and he should have had a goal in the cup final.
  14. Didn't think I'd end up listening to a podcast with Shearer, Lineker and Richards but thought I'd see what Beardsley had to say and it's worth a listen. .
  15. Putting aside finances, the big area where Klopp and the majority of managers in England are let down -- is not having the sporting director/owner answer questions about transfers, injuries, contracts etc. They need more support, you can see the genuine disdain when addressing said matters. I mean there were several times Klopp was close to lamping the media when the topic of transfers came up. James Pearce might be the only red to be happy Klopp is off. If I had my way Klopp would have had a person to take the majority of questions during the transfer windows. The next one in will need more support especially if he is inexperienced.
  16. With Inter 2nd, 3rd and presently 2nd. They lost two big players to PSG and Chelsea when he arrived and was still competitive. His Lazio scored more goals than any team in his time there. I'd say he's in in the Ancelotti mould doesn't have an explicit style of play but adapts to the players and is talked about as being a good man-manager. He got to a Champions League final with Onana in goal surely extra bonus points for that.
  17. Wrong brother this is Simeone not Filippo who manages Inter.
  18. De Zerbi is a good manager but he's not even in the top 5 Italian managers. If you want an Italian who is ready to compete straight away look at Inzaghi. Managing Inter and Lazio are big pressure jobs. Competed in Europe and won domestically still only 47. Very adaptable and excellent at managing the game.
  19. There is another option apart from his former clubs. Alonso stays at Leverkuson for a another season or two. This seems as likely as the other options. The better we do this year the more daunting the job becomes for a new manager especially an inexperienced one.
  20. I can definitely see Trent playing in Spain. Just depends how much of a homebody he is.
  21. One advantage of Zidane is their might be some solidarity with his bald brothers who ref our games. I quite like the idea of a manager using a translator with the media. Oh Zidane might get us Mbappe...
