    The latest Freakonomics podcast is about a certain East Midlands-based team's performance in a certain recent sporting contest. Apart from spending an inordinately long time explaining how European leagues work, for the benefit of the US audience, it's not a bad listen.

    Decent move for BR to be going to Celtic. I can see why he's attracted to it. It's a high-profile job; he'll be operating at the top end of the league, and unless it all goes horribly wrong he'll get that "no silverware" monkey off his back. Plus he'll likely get an easy ride off the supporters for a while because he's (Northern) Irish. Although I've seen it reported (Daily Record I think) that he's going to lose most of the £10M still outstanding on his Liverpool contract, as the club have him on gardening leave...

    Not quite the same, but I got fucked handing back a courtesy car recently. When the guy picked it up he got me to sign regarding the condition it was in; then afterwards he added some marks and scratches onto the sheet in his own handwriting. Still arguing about it months later.

    Stig did this for Mrs Kant because she's too fucking lazy and she leaves all the financial stuff to me (apart from spending it, obviously). The process was dead easy, and they have a great website where you can see the progress of your claims and they keep you well informed. No luck as yet, but there's still one claim pending. TK: get it done.

With four goals against Sporting Gijon on Saturday night, Suárez now has 34 on the season, also good enough for top spot in the race for the Golden Shoe, given to the top league scorer in Europe. Suárez now has eight goals in his last two games after also scoring four on Wednesday night at Deportivo. Overall, he now has 53 goals in 49 games. This is the third time Suárez has scored four goals in a game for Barça. The first was in Barça's 7–0 win in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals. He now has seven hat tricks this season. He has also scored two goals in a game six other times.
