Best age to take your kid to first match?

Took my lad when he was 5 to a local match and he made it only to half time. First time he made it through a full 90 was when he was 8.

    Does Rodgers deserve another season.

Agreed. Then we would have him play the tuba because he did one time when he was 7 years old.

This is my conflict as well. Real stand for everything that is wrong with modern football and they are destroying the game I love. Juventus have Evra. I can't decide which is worse.

    *Shakes head* Everton again.

To add on to Mr. Chopper's post: Romelu Lukaku's new agent has told Sudpress the Belgian is a better striker than Diego Costa and added: "If we'd met earlier, he wouldn't have signed for Everton." Lukaku, 21, recently signed up with Mino Raiola -- who also represents Mario Balotelli, Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimovic -- after ending a long-term arrangement with Christophe Henrotay. Henrotay negotiated a five-year contract when the Belgium international joined Everton from Chelsea for a club-record £28 million last July and, while Roberto Martinez has said the change of agent is no cause for concern, Raiola said the player should never have moved to Goodison Park. "If we had met each other earlier, he wouldn't have played for Everton," he said in quotes appearing in The Guardian. "Maybe [he would be] somewhere else, maybe he would still be at Chelsea." Lukaku's permanent exit came after Chelsea had brought in Costa from Atletico Madrid but, while Spain international is currently the Premier League's joint-top scorer with 19 goals, Raiola claims his client is a better player. "I want to be clear: Romelu is a better striker than Diego Costa and could have done the same as the Spaniard did this season, but the Chelsea directors had decided to buy another star than giving confidence to one of their young boys," he said. "I don't know whether, in Belgium, you realise his immense qualities. He has it all: physically, technically, in terms of his personality. "If everyone is saying Paul Pogba will be the best midfielder in the world, then Romelu Lukaku is the Paul Pogba of attackers. "He will become one of Europe's best forwards. I'm not saying this for fun but, when you look at everything he's accomplished at his age, it's not normal. He's already achieved great things, and he hasn't yet exploited his potential." Lukaku has been linked with Juventus but Raiola, who has already said that the Italians cannot afford to keep Pogba, does not feel they have the financial power to sign him. "Juventus were interested in him last summer but I want to be clear: I don't think one of the Italian teams can pay that amount of money for one player," he said. "It's almost impossible. "We have never said he would leave at the end of this season. We will see what happens in the summer, but the Everton directors don't have to think Rom will play there for the rest of his career. "Later, he will play for a top club like Paris Saint-Germain, the two teams from Manchester, Barcelona or Bayern Munich." http://www.espnfc.co.uk/story/2378287/everton-striker-romelu-lukaku-better-than-chelsea-forward-diego-costa-agent
  8. Agreed. He definitely would have stayed last year for less money than 100K a week but this year he would need more than 100K to stay. But he just wants to play. It is not about the money.

    Friendly vs. Burnley

Supposedly we played a behind doors friendly vs. Burnley yesterday. Lineup was Jones, Enrique, Sakho, Toure, Coates , Kelly, Can, Allen, Suso, Ibe, Lambert. 2-1 to us with Lambert scoring both is the most common score reported. Some websites say we lost 2-0 but these all originate from an Everton website. Shocking! Must be that they "go to the game". Even our behind doors friendlies at Melwood.

    Summer Transfers 2014

For those who want to get excited about a wild rumor....(nicked from another forum so not sure of the source) Yaya Toure is reportedly open to a shock move to Liverpool after declaring he wants to leave Manchester City this summer. The Ivory Coast international is ready to exit the Etihad, citing the fact that the club forgot his birthday towards the end of last season, while denying him time off to see his brother Ibrahim, who was suffering from cancer, as reasons behind his desire to leave the club. A move to Brendan Rodgers’ side would come as a huge shock, but with his brother Kolo already at the club, as well as the Reds being set to receive a huge sum of money for the transfer of striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona, it is a move that could feasibly happen. The French newspaper ‘Le Parisien’ has also claimed that one of the 31-year-old’s international team-mates said: “He will do everything to ensure his departure this summer.”

    Suarez bite v2

Statistics can be used for anything... You Have A Higher Chance Of Being Bitten By Uruguay’s Luis Suarez Than By A Shark June 27, 2014 | by Lisa Winter Photo credit: Jimmy Baikovicius via Wikimedia Commons Share162 Tweet55 0 Reddit2 1 When Uruguay takes the pitch this weekend against Colombia in the World Cup, they will do it without star forward Luis Suarez. Why? Because FIFA banned him for four months from so much as stepping foot inside a stadium for biting Italy’s Giorgio Chiellini. On purpose. While playing soccer. Seriously. To make matters worse, this wasn’t even his first offense. This wasn’t even his second offense. This is seriously the third time that Suarez, who also plays for Liverpool, has bit an opponent during a match. Ian Steadman from New Statesmen got curious about the sheer odds of the danger an opponent has of being bitten by Suarez, and how it compares, say, to the odds of getting bitten by a shark. Since 2005, Suarez has played in 441 senior matches for Uruguay’s national team and various clubs. Assuming 11 starting players and 3 substitutions per game, 6,160 players have gone up against Suarez and have been at risk of getting bit. That puts the odds Suarez biting an opponent right around 1 in 2,000. The odds of getting killed by a shark while swimming in the ocean? 1 in 3.7 million. However, the numbers get a little closer if you consider the odds of getting bitten by a shark, even just nipped at. At New Smyrna Beach, Florida, regarded as the shark attack capital of the world, the odds of getting nibbled by a shark if the 22,464 residents go swimming just once per year are 1 in 2,808 on a slow year or 1 in 800 during a record year. Overall, it averages out about 1 in 2,000, just like Suarez. Realistically, the odds may be lower as many people likely go swimming more than once per year. Even still, the odds of getting bitten by Suarez during a match are still higher than being struck by lightning (1 in 10,000), getting in an plane crash (1 in 11 million), or getting murdered in the Americas (1 in 6,100). However, Suarez isn’t nearly as dangerous as Mike Tyson. The odds of getting bit during a boxing match against Iron Mike is 1 in 50.
