Looking back on the 2005 election its interesting that as Labour lurched more to the right they haemorrhaged votes, they lost a hundred seats in Blairs last election as leader. The liberal party meanwhile under Charlie Kennedy positioned themselves to the left and had their best result in a generation. Although the fallout from the Iraq war may have skewed voting behaviour. https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/jun/02/charles-kennedy-left-labour-true-liberal

Wrong. Gordon Brown was infact very "arsed" with Tony Blair it's common knowledge. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/blair-brown-war-two-fronts-1897146.html Tony Blair did indeed win an election after the Iraq war although Labours majority was slashed to approx 67 seats from 167 against a conservative party that was in disarray. The only main party to oppose the Iraq war was the liberals who had their best result for decades and won approx 62 seats. Your last comment about the British public not being that arsed seems to be born out of the need to take another bizarre swipe at Jeremy Corbyn but as the old saying goes 'blind fury often leads to irrational thought. https://www.counterfire.org/articles/history/19460-15-years-on-from-the-biggest-protest-in-british-history

Wait till the free prop up money stops being given out and the effects of a bad Brexit deal start hitting people's pockets. Then we'll be back in the real world.

Being popular, that's it!! Being popular is key and you've unlocked that key... now who else can we use as an example of "being popular" Like free tuition fees? You're on a roll Thinly veiled post that means to say... 'can you be the next leader we jump into bed with please Mr Starmer, we'll be good honest, the tories have bombed us out and the rest of the country fucking hate us'

You keep saying this but I dont think their was. I saved you the bother because you couldn't be arsed so I've had a look myself and I cant find anything of note bar from the odd idiot on twitter. The labour mps, the left wing commentators and the vast majority of members seemed ok with Starmer being leader. He certainly won by a good margin and was the only realistic candidate. I've found some dissent after the Long Bailey sacking but nothing of note. I cant find a dissenting quote from Corbyn himself against Starmer. The turning point in the onslaught against Starmer has undoubtedly been the removal of Corbyn from the party. It's when a section of labour mps, labour members, political commentators and the trade unions started to seriously question Starmers judgement. It's why the debate is raging away on here. The muffled noise of a small group of idiots on twitter before was irrelevant and carried no weight.

Is the Canary that relevant though? Genuinely? They are hardly mainstream. Compere to a front bench resignation which is then reported by Kuenssberg on bbc news for instance. I might be wrong as I dont read it and I'd guess the average Joe doesn't either.

This part of your post is simply not true and I've seen you repeat it a few times. The questions started on Starmer started in earnest when Corbyn was expelled from the party after the anti semitism verdict. In Corbyns statement after the report he gave his full support to Starmer in fighting the tories, their was nothing remotely critical of the leader. After the Long Bailey sacking the response from the left was imo fairly muted and resigned. Around a third of labour members have asked for Corbyn to be reinstated so the figures prove its hardly a small faction of trouble makers. Starmer has had a fairly trouble free ride thus far compared to the outright mutiny and treachery endured by Corbyn by a large portion of the parliamentary labour party. He had to contend with continuous front bench resignations and the hullabaloo of prominent members forming a new party, you can also throw in a hostile media and tenuous charges of racism. In my opinion the divisions now surfacing against Starmer are mainly self inflicted and instigated by himself.

Should Corbyn remain as Labour leader?

I'm sure Laura Kuenssberg and the rest of the media will report on two tory members of parliament going on an anti semitism course. It was a very serious problem to them apparently..

Yep. Utter cunts. People who you cannot reason with because they are beyond reason. Freedom of expression and speech should be defended at all costs and these people should have the chance to defend themselves and justify the thought that led to their actions before the rule of law hopefully locks them away.

The president of the United States called someone 'sleepy eyed Chuck Todd" in a tweet two days ago, I no longer know if it's one of Trump's slurs or the fellas real name, the worlds on its head. Trump actually called one of his enemies Moonbeam faced McGraw in a tweet a few months ago, what more sensible world leaders and diplomats make of all this is anyone's guess.
