Would've he starved to death if he'd been a millionaire? Is it pure coincidence that he starved to death after the govt stopped his welfare payments? He had no money to buy food, he had no choice, he had no control over his situation. The govt took the chance to make his situation better away from him.

Silly glib comments when various reports and a wide variety of bodies have been highlighting real concerns in the past week over the impact of benefit cuts and the dramatic rise in people forced to use food banks in this country. Ignorance is bliss.
-
Not very well no. However i just about managed to read referees are picked by the three main bodies " in addition to the fa's head of refereeing."

Yes they do. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Professional_Game_Match_Officials_Board

Last season Mark Halsey sent Shelvey off for a 50/50 challenge with jonny evans, the correct call would have been to give both players a yellow or at worst give both players a red. Evans went unpunished. Halseys decision affected the outcome of the game. In his autobiography published after he retired, Halsey admitted being in text contact with Alex Fergurson, Halsey says in his book " you have to earn Sir Alex's respect" this is against fa rules. No charges or fa investigation has been set up against either man. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/mark-halsey-alex-ferguson-text-2276765

The fa decide the ref. The ref makes decisions which effect the outcome of the game.
-
The fact he had no money to buy food due to Atos declaring him fit for work, meaning his benefits were stopped may have also have been a factor.
-
Never under estimate the power of the fa and their merry band of one eyed referees.

I wonder if this fella done all his money on iPhones, garden furniture and eating in Nando's? http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/disabled-mark-wood-starved-death-3194250

The problem's only going to get worse http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/thousands-of-young-people-forced-to-go-without-food-after-benefits-wrongly-stopped-under-draconian-new-sanctions-regime-9162844.html Burying our head in the sand and pretending it isnt happening like Ids and Nick Clegg won't make it go away.

A lot of people homes are under real threat (bedroom tax) and an ever larger swathe of people do not have as much as "a few quid" to their name, hence the rise in foodbanks.
-
Obviously not. Did they have a poster charting the other 69%?

Here's another example of "a casual link" that govt policy is responsible for the rise in food banks, this is from a right wing think tank. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/welfare-cuts-benefits-blunders-forcing-3200686

What most of us knew. A report that govts policy on welfare reform means a third of claimants are having to resort to food banks after having their benefits stopped unfairly, http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/local-national/uk/welfare-payments-stopped-unfairly-30056042.html

^ Nick Clegg + principles in the same sentence.

Was he out of order? I'm not so sure. Although Rodgers response seems petty i suspect he sees it as an opportunity to further stamp his authority on the club and more importantly the players. It could be seen as a warning to any other player that considers questioning the manager that he is not afraid to show them the door. Fergurson did the same with Paul McGrath and a couple of others when he took over at Man utd.
-
Didn't Scotty Parker won it a few years back with relegated West Ham? His main contribution to the beautiful game that season was to stand just outside his own penalty area and let various players from all the other sides in the league smash the ball full force straight into his face.

Does Rodgers deserve another season.

At the moment I'm just about in the yes camp, however i noticed it was saint David's day yesterday and Brendan started Welsh international Joe Allen. It dos'nt take a person inclined to watching the grassy knoll documentaries long to work out the connection. Although Rodgers cleverly disguised Allens inclusion in the post match interview with some management speak of "shoring up the midfield" or playing some "diamond formation" thing, however the link is obvious, Welsh, St David's day = start in midfield. I can't be accused of being racist or anti welsh as i am welsh and racist myself although Rodgers must learn and learn quickly that sentiment plays no part in this game. -
Rest easy, our foreign minister Billy Hague will sort it out.

If Suarez dosnt win both player of the year awards I'll give up watching football and start watching soccer.
