The front three play alot closer together in Amorims system, more akin to Mane, Firmino and Salah did, with the wing backs holding the width more like Robertson and Trent used too.

In theory that should move Salah narrower and closer to goal.

It's a tough sell and might put undue pressure on any new manager if he comes in and the first thing that happens is we sell our best player, a 1 year extension (or with 1 with an option) seems like the more sensible approach especially while he's still our most productive player.

Keeping as much as of the squad together as we can this summer (and adding a few key additions) before any significant re-shaping occurs next year would make more sense.

Mo being an infinitely better right sided version of Goncalves would hopefully help Nunez a bit too. I always think Nunez looks better with Mo closer to him.

If he is the difference between CL football and not; or the title or not then 70-150m is a great price to pay

We’re playing Atalanta in the Europa League this week, did he not play for Liverpool last season? Like I said, I want him to stay but you can see from the model we’re run on that they might make a case for letting him go at £100m plus.

I stand with Code; Remmie and more importantly Mo.

Selling our most influential player in a time when we will be going through a transitional phase with a new manager is ludicrous.

Again Code is right; replacing Salah's goal tally will take a lot more than 70/150 million.

Unless Mo wants out himself; he stays.

He’s irreplaceable and he stays as long as he wants to but that £70m/150m might not be around next year and neither may Mo. You can see the sense in it even if none of us agree with it.

  4. No way we’re spending big on players from Sporting if Amorim comes. One of the more attractive thing about signing a guy like that for Edwards will be that he won’t have to go against his recruitment model to appease him. Maybe they go for Inacio but there won’t be £70m plus bids on Championship proven forwards.

  5. Grow up lads, he’s was a good player until he wasn’t then we got £50m for him. If you’re expecting undying loyalty from foreign fellas in their 20’s then this sport is not for you. He left his boyhood club for us.

  6. Can’t see him at a Saudi club in the next couple of years. It’s not taking off at all is it and he’s still at his peak. Hopefully he doesn’t hold us to ransom but I can see him signing an extension at the start of the new guys reign. Providing the shithouses don’t tell him it's £30m plus sell to buy.

  7. Only way we do the outlay it would take to get Wirtz is if Xabi comes in and Salah leaves. A forward three of Wirtz, Nunez/Diaz and Jota with slightly less width looks good on paper. Alonso might be the only other manager in Europe who likes his full backs to defend less than Klopp so Trent and Robbo would be ideal foils in a Xabi set up.
