    Fowler played during a time slow forwards were part and parcel of the game. His injury setbacks didn’t help but they’re not the reason he didn’t achieve greatness.

    It’s more the games we draw that we should have won than the games we win comfortably that people take issue with. It’s an incredibly high standard needed to win this league and we all have it in the back of our minds that City are about to win about 16 games in a row.

    It’s not up for debate that he’s had a terrible time of it but my issue with him is more about what he does in our front three. He can be a bit Coutinho when he’s not on it, looks like a sterile threat. Again, he’s a great option but like Nunez he needs to contribute numerically. This was true before his world got turned upside down.

    Eventually people will probably just have to accept that he’s an expensive upgrade on Origi. I still say we turn Mo in to Bobby and get legs around him. As for Mo buggering off for a bit in January we could try Dom as a right mid and Diaz in the left in an unorthodox 442 with two of Gakpo, Nunez and Jota up top. Diaz is more of an issue than Nunez for me.

    Hincapie isn’t get much of a game this season. Whether that’s form or trouble coming back from that injury I don’t know. Lloyd Kelly doesn’t do anything Gomez doesn’t already offer us. Inacio has the hallmarks of one we should have picked up when cheap but end up missing the boat due to competition and increased price tag. Not seen much Lisbon or Benfica this year but Inacio and the lad in midfield for Benfica look like the next two big exports and we have good working relationships with both clubs. I’d like it if we could find some way to keep Jota fit to as he’s the only other forward looking like he has a goal in him.

    We’re hardly the first team in history to sacrifice certain facets of its team to accommodate a playmaker. It’s just we’re probably the first to do that for a playmaker starting from right back. I imagine if he was starting in a Pirlo style role people would be a lot more understanding of him.

    Expectations are that he does better and puts up the sort of numbers a Liverpool forward has to in a title challenging team. Same for Diaz too. Price tag is irrelevant, if they can’t get to the standard they get to the back of the queue.

    Well they just made Dom Solanke look like the second coming so Nunez should tear them apart. As I said, I do love Nunez but I do wonder, and it’s a heavy begrudging, that if Stacksy was right and the stuff he’s missing isn’t really coachable at this stage and he’ll just be a high end Divock Origi hand grenade we throw on at 70 minutes.

    He’s deffo a bit thick. He was offside from a goal kick yesterday. If we were to fuck him off I’d say turn Mo in to Bobby and sign a pacy winger. Creative Mo roaming free with intelligent pace around him would be fantastic.

    I love Nunez but it’s the same sort of love you have for a big daft dog who can’t be trained fully. There’s no harm in him and he usually comes back when you shout him but as soon as some quim with a nervous demeanor walks past he’ll be jumping up at him to say hello.

    I still think we missed a trick not having Red Bull as investors when we were searching for money. Should have sold them a percentage small enough not to be called Red Bull Liverpool and become the third stop after Salzburg and Leipzig.
