  1. I fucking despise Chelsea but in some ways i would actually rather see them in top 4 than spurs - Chelsea are going nowhere really, they will remain in and around it due to their money but they aren't on an upward curve.

Spurs need slapping down and missing out on top 4 with their shiny new stadium and that slack jawed mong up front on a massive downer after missing the penalty that sees Ingerlund knocked out of the world cup in a shoot out in the last 16 would do for me.

  2. Seeing people in the aisles in the main stand twirling their scarves above their heads whilst singing it against Bournemouth shows just how much of an impact it has had.

It was virtually non stop v City too!

Oh and the bitters hate it too - which instantly means it is boss.

  3. Hate playing these....since we smashed them 4-1 at Anfield in 2013 when Suarez scored a header from edge of area we have played them 9 times and won just 3 and not one of those games has had more than 1 goal difference between the sides in it....and of course we have failed to beat them in two attempts already this season.

They are fucking shite though and we should be looking to give them a good hiding.

  4. If they wanna know why current situation does not work and is actually unsafe let them come block 306 of kop next tues and see the dangerous madness that exists when people who are bang up for it stand in an area designed for sitting in....

The safe standing is fit for purpose what we have now is fit for sitting but not for standing.

We learned lessons from that terrible day in 1989 and got rid of unsafe standing and all the other events that caused the horrific events so never again would they be repeated...we now need to move with the changes in how we can accomodate people who want to stand and do so safely as well as not spoiling things for those who wish to sit. Separate environments for different wishes.

The 'technology' exists to do it - it has been shown to work and work well....for me it is time to do it.

  5. No one does. Because it's bollocks.

With the demographic of tourists and half scarf wearing whoppers increasingly growing and found in certainly the big clubs grounds these days it wouldn't surprise me if it was true

  6. I don't believe that 5% figure at all.

The demographic they must have spoken with or maybe to be fair who responded must be your proper half scarf and jesters hat merchants/older people who have never really stood.

That or things really have changed amongst fans.

  7. Jamie Vardy? Ian Wright before him....

Not many though is there...even players like Emile Heskey had banged in a reasonable amount of goals at a decent level by the age of 22.

Heskey had a decent career don't get me wrong but he wasn't top class was he...but he had scored a bomb load of goals for Leicester by the time we bought him aged 22.

  8. He had a couple of good months, but otherwise was largely shite.

Get rid. With Solanke, there is still the potential for him to turn into a player. Much less so with Origi imo.

Edit: I didn't realise Origi was still only 22. Feels a tad harsh now.

Just turned 23 and in the modern game i don't think 22/23 qualifies as 'only' any longer.

IMO if you aren't doing it at 23 you aren't really ever gonna do it...not at the level we need.

How many really top strikers in the modern game have not established themselves to a pretty decent level at least by the age of 22/23?

  9. I'd take him back if the only other options for his place in the squad are Solanke and Ings

He will add more than both of those in the squad IMO - although I don't think any of the 3 are really up to what we need.

  10. Yeah, the double kit was excellent, as was the 1987-88 one. 89-90 was, erm, different. The Adidas equipment kits were mega turd.

They were shite - those big horrible thick stripes.

I love the 3 stripes just normal down the arm but those equipment kits took it to too far...horrible.

    The garibaldi's of adidas kits.

  11. Imagine swapping prime Stevie Gerrard for Henderson in this team - it would literally elevate this side from good to great in one fell swoop.

You instantly upgrade the leadership massively...add loads more bite to the midfield...loads more vision to feed our front 3....more goals from the middle...better passing.

Prime Stevie G in this outfit is a thought to make the mouth water and I couldn't see anyone stopping us in this run in.

  12. Getting to a CL semi final and prioritising qualifying for the group stages.

    Cool story modern football.

Wasn't it Stoke a few years ago who played a weakened team in arguably the biggest game in their history in a European tie to save players for a league game to help them towards qualifying for the very competition they were treating with disdain...?

The shitness of modern footy all over and sadly a reflection on how money is now more important than actually competing to so many

To update a well known bitters phrase "it is not the winning it is the making he revenue that counts"
