  1. Yeah watching this on hes goal... No comms is a big bonus http://www.hesgoal.com/news/94936/Liverpool_vs_Shrewsbury_Town.html
  2. We are in the ACS but sacked it off today, have to say won't miss listening to that shite from them - although probably be worse on telly!
  3. Yeah... Just looked it up Kelleher Williams Hoever Van Den Berg Lewis Cain Chirivella Clarkson Elliott Millar Jones I think 1-6 todays side is sound....it is 7-11 that is the worry.
  4. I thought Woltman was a midfielder but like said wasn't sure. Not sure about Jones up there myself, but we'll see today. Surprised he hasn't put Firmino or Minamino in there, but maybe he does not want to risk them for Arsenal - and of course if they have had covid it is likely they haven't been able to train due to not coming out of isolation until last day or so...
  5. Is there an actual forward in team. Woltman is a midfielder i believe....?...18 years old. Gordon - aged 17, i thought he was an attacking midfielder/winger....may be wrong of course. Jones of course is a midfielder. Assuming that is front 3.
  6. Back 6 is alright....its after that the concerns start.

    Thiago Alcantara

Not enough for my money....they are potentially good maybe very good talents...but we IMO need more over next couple of years. Crocks and just not good enough like Keita and Oxlade need jibbing and the aged and semi crocks like Henderson/Thiago probably do too in next 12 mths.

Our midfield is in desperate need of an overhaul and for me it should start right now....and be done across 3 windows.

And win 2-1.... They put out a pretty strong side, not a 2nd string at all....yes keeper was - but rest was strong...most changes down to AFCON - they have 3 away. Most who started last league game who were avilable started today. Viera even talked up importance of a cup run to them and promised to pick a strong side ahead of game.

Hahahaha Fuck off, Newcastle. And fuck off Kieran "Leaving club in european cup to join pile of shite heading for the 2nd division, but it is not about the money - honest" Trippier.
  13. Liverpool will field a side mixed with youth and experience for Sunday’s Emirates FA Cup third-round tie with Shrewsbury Town at Anfield. The Reds returned to the AXA Training Centre on Friday after the facility was closed for a 48-hour period following a significant number of suspected positive COVID-19 test results among the playing squad and staff. With Jürgen Klopp and Pepijn Lijnders isolating, training was led by Peter Krawietz – and the assistant manager offered an update on the situation when addressing the media on Saturday lunchtime. “I can’t tell you exact numbers, but obviously the situation is like that for the game tomorrow,” he said in relation to the club’s number of suspected positive COVID-19 tests. “We have a squad, we have a team, we can play and we will try to win this game. “There’s a difficult situation out there. We had a couple of injuries, illness, COVID cases and this is the situation we have to deal with. We still have to wait for a few results as well; the players are not here [yet] for today, so they have to do their test before they can join the building and this is why I cannot speak about the exact numbers.” Krawietz confirmed Liverpool have recalled one player from a loan to join the squad for the visit of the League One side, but suspected positive COVID-19 tests among the U23s set-up will impact selection considerations. He said: “The situation with the loan players, yes, we have one loan player back and he will probably join the squad tomorrow. “Of course, we are searching for options for this game and for the squad for tomorrow nearly everywhere, but we found enough players to build a team and have a squad for tomorrow. “In the U23s we had a few COVID cases as well. A few players are back now again and can join the squad and we will choose a team which is able to follow our football way. “Can we expect a perfect set-up for tomorrow? No, of course we can’t but we can always show the right and perfect reaction to what is happening on the pitch. This is what we try to do, a proper team performance with experienced leaders in the team and young players who will get this fantastic experience to play at Anfield and feel the support of our supporters.”
  14. Given how much training first teamers have missed lately with covid and training ground closed and given Klopp's usual reluctance to risk 1st teamers v lower league sides, and a stretched squad with AFCON and with bigger games to come I expect a really inexperienced side. All guesswork as have no idea who has and who does not have covid and who is out of isolation or even if those out of isolation have trained.. But feel something like this - followed by as strong as can go on Thurs. He does not like playing players without training does he - so not sure if those 1st teamers would be out of isolation/training in time...if training ground is even open Got a feeling covid permitting it might be something like this: Adrian Williams Koutemio Gomez Beck Morton Dixon-Bonner Milner Gordon Balagizi Origi

    January 2022 Transfer Thread

We really should be doing something in midfield...it needs an overhaul and you can't do it all in one window - for me we should be starting now and then do more in summer. I suppose it would depend on getting someone to take Oxlade or Keita off our hands, but for me we should be doing something.

I reckon Coutinho will be boss for Villa. His numbers at Barcelona and Bayern are actually good.....similar to what he did with us.

    The 97

Watched all 4 episodes.....thought it was really nicely done - Maxine Peak played Anne Williams with fantastic beauty, dignity and grace. She and the series did a fantastic job of telling the stories and did so in a touching, believable manner that did such a subject absolute justice. Kevin Sampson's script was engrossing, well paced and again did the subject matter justice. A brilliant but heart wrenching watch. JFT 97.

    *Shakes head* Everton again.

Graeme Sharp appointed to Everton board to "advise on football strategy" Good old Neverton... a man who has managed two clubs, both over 20 years ago. Those giants of the game Oldham Athletic and Bangor City. When Joe Royle quit as Oldham manager to take over at Everton in November 1994, Sharp took over as player-manager at Boundary Park and they finished in midtable in 1994–95 – a disappointing showing for a side who had retained all but one of their key players (Mike Milligan) from the side that had been relegated from the Premier League and reached an FA Cup semi-final. Further disappointment came in 1995–96 when Oldham finished 18th, and Sharp finally walked in March of 1996–97 with Oldham on the verge of their imminent relegation to Division Two. With that sort of CV you can see why they have appointed him....oh hang on he did score that goal at Anfield in 84 - that makes him welp qualified to advise on football strategy, my mistake.
