Remember that time he was commentating after one of our games and he played “The Party’s Over” after we got beat and we then proceeded to win all kinds for years afterwards.
A real “You never win anything with kids” moment.

He worked for Granada and I never really felt he was overly biased, although a few seemed to think he liked United and not us.

Always thought he was decent as a commentator.

Old school along the lines of Wolstenholme, Brian Moore, Coleman etc..

    91. RIP.

That was after Forest knocked us out the European Cup, then whenever Granada turned up to do are match and we were giving somebody a shellacking the Kop would sing "the party's only just begun"

Bit unfair for anybody to say he hated us and comparing him to Tyler, unlike Tyler he didn't sound like he was having root canal surgery when we scored, I mean just listen to him when Fairclough scored a last minute winner v the Bitters

And Kick Off was a great football show on a Friday night

RIP to a great old school commenter ...

Whether they are gay or not, some of the clothes they've worn are just ridiculous. When they went to New York Davies wandered round in a dressing gown with some ridiculous illuminous boots. Calvert Lewis wore some bizarre Louis Vuitton trackie with matching handbag and cap.

They wear velvet suits and have handbags that someone's Nan wouldn't use and probably spend an absolute fortune to look like twats.

It's almost as if they are trying too hard to be cool and edgy like they are some weird 80s pop singers.

The funny thing is Evertonians are desperate not to look like homophones so say through gritted teeth that they have their own style etc but if it was Joe Gomez and Curtis Jones doing it they would call them all kinds and make up rumours about them being in the Lisbon and Superstar Boudoir every night shagging trannies.

Peter Sissons was a top bloke too and always spoke highly of the city

The newsreader also recalled being in the city soon after the Hillsborough disaster: “One day I’ll never forget is when I did the commentary for the Hillsborough memorial service at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, two weeks after the disaster. It still makes me cry to think of that choirboy’s beautiful rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.”

That stupid twat Mark Goldbridge moaning about the owners ruining the club then slags them off for taking £100 off Man utd fans for Ronaldo shirts that haven't been delivered yet. No hint of irony at all.

To be fair Goldridge isn't too bad and when we play well his complimentary even if it's through gritted teeth

And can be quite funny even if sometimes it's unintentional like before the Utd game

  6. Not sure about the Allison foul I can understand it going both ways but it's funny that Craig Pawson was the ref (although it was VAR that chalked it off) when Firminho's goal was disallowed against the Mancs due to this challenge by Van Dijk on de Gea from 40 seconds

It's the fact there is no consistency we all know when the next games happen a keeper will suffer a similar challenge but will get the free-kick a bit like when Mane got sent off for the high boot against City, I've yet to see another player receive a similar punishment (apart from in Europe) and that was  over 4 years ago.

Just caught up with the first couple of episodes of Shetland. Always feel it is elevated above most home grown police procedurals by Douglas Henshall and the scenery.

Have to say that cake fridge in the middle of nowhere was brilliant...How cool is that ?

Terminally-ill people dying before benefits paid

Around 100 people denied fast-tracked disability benefits for terminal illness died challenging the decision.

Currently, patients can access benefits more quickly if their clinician says they have six months or less to live.

In July the government promised to extend that to 12 months. Critics said it did not go far enough.

"Our priority is dealing with people's claims quickly and compassionately," the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) said.

End-of-life charity Marie Curie said it had "serious concerns about the DWP's ability to recognise when a claimant was approaching the end of life and was in desperate need of support".

Christine McCluskey in hospital the day before she died

Christine McCluskey died weighing around 3st (19kg), her daughter Michelle said

Christine McCluskey, from Dundee, Scotland, had a history of illnesses including Crohn's Disease, osteoporosis, and suffering a stroke in 2005.

She was told her PIP would be stopped and that DWP would try to recoup an overpayment of Employment Support Allowance after a physical assessment, which described her as having a "slim build" and being a "pleasant lady to assess".

She weighed around 5st 6lbs (34.4kg) at the time and was being fed by a drip, her daughter Michelle said.

Then she received a terminal lung cancer diagnosis in July 2018.

She submitted a form from her doctor to the DWP about her separate terminal diagnosis but a letter came back in September 2018, a month later, to say that information - the form - required her to start a fresh claim. She died the same day aged 61.

Michelle believes the application process needs to change so fast-tracked support can be paid automatically to people with a terminal diagnosis.

It was "degrading" for a person to need to submit a form putting a time frame on their own death, she said.

Michelle, who previously shared pictures of her mother with national newspapers to highlight her experience, said: "You just have to look at her to see she wasn't well and that was before she had cancer."

In February 2019, a tribunal ruled Christine's PIP should not have been cut. The DWP paid the arrears owed.
