  1. Just seen the Manchester Evening News article and it looks like they’ve just copied the Wiki page and replaced the ‘around 17th May’ with ‘it will open 17th May’. Can’t be sure but the guy who said Midnight this Sun/Mon seems more clued up, this is what he said - “It says that the transfer window opens on 17 May. I have also seen this date mentioned by the Manchester Evening news but it is wrong. Whilst FIFA say that national associations must allow a transfer window of 12 weeks this is what the FA have (9 June to 31 August). It was the Premier League's decision to curtail that period - they don't get to simply move the entire transfer window that is set by the FA's notification to FIFA. That is a collective agreement by the Premier League. As mentioned previously domestic transfers can happen from midnight this coming Sunday/Monday. Incoming international transfers between 9 June and 9 August (for Premier League).“
  2. From Wiki which only mentions ‘around 17th May’ “Premier League clubs in England voted to end the summer window on the Thursday before the start of the season - on August 9 in 2018, instead of August 31. Because FIFA demands the window must be open for 12 weeks, the window will open around May 17, shortly after the final games of the season on May 13. Clubs will be able to sell players until August 31 but not buy replacements after the deadline of August 9.” Also seen this which adamantly claims the 17th May quoted by Manchester Evening New is wrong. “Domestic transfers can happen from midnight this coming Sunday/Monday. Incoming international transfers between 9 June and 9 August (for Premier League).” Perhaps the 17th May might have left them short by a half week of the 12 week period so they shifted it forward by 4 days to the earliest possible date (the last day of the season).
  3. Pearce often instantly comes out denying all reports of link to players and how the club are mystified by them. Yesterday he was talking up Fekir in the Echo. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/meet-nabil-fekir-playmaker-adored-14626386.amp?__twitter_impression=true Other twitter reports say that Klopp and Fekir have met, that Chelsea put in a late bid but failed and that a deal with LFC is not done, but close. Lyon wanted 70m euros and we are apparently willing to stump that up, perhaps why the two were allowed to meet.
  4. Can’t we just save all our anger for Alberto Moreno.

  9. The one million votes for him meant he came third in the presidential elections.
  10. Premier League champions-elect Manchester City are reportedly struggling to sell tickets for their UEFA Champions League quarterfinal against Liverpool. City are in with a good chance of winning the competition, but it appears they still cannot generate enough interest to sell out the home leg of the tie. Tickets for the game went on sale Monday, and seats are still available a couple days later. In contrast, Liverpool already sold out the other leg at Anfield within hours. It will be interesting to see whether there are many empty seats during the tie between the two teams at the Etihad in a few weeks.
  11. Klopp’s off to replace Wenger and Mignolet will be player-manager next season. (Garth Crookes). Tribalfootball should be a barrel of laughs tomorrow.

  13. Watford midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure has admitted he would love to one day play for Liverpool. The Frenchman has impressed mightily as the lynchpin in the Hornets midfield this season. His performances have drawn the interest of Arsenal and Tottenham. But the 25-year-old envisages a move to Liverpool as his dream. "Liverpool is a club that need no introduction," Doucoure told Canal Football Club. "I was impatient to play there, at Anfield. I wanted to feel the atmosphere. For me it would be a dream to play in a club like this."
  14. Liverpool are lining up Napoli midfielder Jorginho as replacement for Emre Can. Man United and Arsenal are also looking, but Liverpool are confident. Liverpool have also been looking at Nice’s Jean-Michael Seri and Wilfred Ndidi of Leicester. (David Maddock - Mirror)

  17. Egypt is pretty soon going to have a 99% LFC fan following. Vodafone Egypt will give all of its phone customers 11 minutes of free call time every time Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah scores. I remember in Michael Palins original Around the World in 80 days series, the captain of the ship he was sailing on was Egyptian and talked about how he loved LFC and looked forward to docking in Liverpool so he could meet up with his friends there and catch a game. That captain must be loving watching his fellow countryman playing for us now.
