I should be over it by now, but the demise of Dolcis and Ravel still rankles.

Also linked with David Tavares from Benfica.
Apparently he first impressed our bootroom team when he played against us in a behind closed doors friendly earlier in the year.
I understand though that they then took away the music, which was the only thing he had, so he is no longer interested.

There seems to have been some reference to the fact that Woakes is uncomfortable against the short ball.
This seems rather specious.

It fills a void. City cannot celebrate what they have because what they have is built on an empty foundation of money and false accounting. What we have they will never have. So they celebrate what they see that do not have. It's beneath embarrassing.

Newcastle's shithouse fans, sheesh. Championship club with small-time gobshite supporters. I thought Chelsea was as bad as it can get but somehow these knobheads were worse. A black and white Everton. It's been a long while since I was at a game that I enjoyed less, or more.

The thing that bugs me is that I get it's an incident that will attract a bit of stick, perfectly understandable, what pisses me off is the Big John Terry slip which in the penalties of a Champions League final absolutely cost that club a trophy and yet hardly gets a mention or sung at every ground. The irony that it was Chelsea fans who took on the Gerrand chant is there for all to see.
Isn't that because nobody really gives a toss about John Terry or Chelsea?
Envy is the root of all the antipathy.

I quite enjoyed George's melodramatic (if erratic) VAR announcements.
'VAR Check - Penalty. VAR Check - Penalty.'
(Men stare helplessly at the pitch. Confused children look up to anxious parents. Nervous pets whine and pace.)
'CHECK OVER. CHECK OVER.'

Why is taking your shirt off a bookable offence? Is there a reason?

I'm loathe to be tiresome but if Dortmund win 4-1 Spurs go through on away goals.

No, there was no dispute about that whatsoever from anyone.

Painful as it is, I do not think Ramos did 'fail a drug test'. He was given a glucocorticosteroid (a 'GCC'), which are not permitted in competition unless (a) they are administered in a certain way or (b) the player has a special permission (a TUE) to use them. It sounds like he was given a GCC but that it was administered in a permitted way (GCCs are often given in conjunction with painkillers to reduce inflammation caused by a painkilling injection). There are a number of different GCCs and it appears that the club doctor recorded one type on the relevant forms, when in fact he was given another. He did not break any rules, and WADA has confirmed this.

There was a Cardiff fan with a wig and fake tash pretending to be Vincent Tan, the club’s owner.
Why was he dressed up as Hitler in that case? Although I don't think Hitler wore aviators.

Bookmakers bring this sort of stuff on themselves by taking bets on things that some people have inside information on. If Sturridge had failed the West Brom medical or they pulled out at the last minute they'd have happily kept all the money and this charge would never have come to light.
Yes, you wonder whether Bookies are above being involved in slipping out 'information' and cashing in as gullible people place what they perecive to be clever bets.
In that vein I did read that Trump weighed in quite heavily on the Beckhams getting divorced, obvioulsy got burned and has had it in for 'fake news' ever since.

I watched that game with the same sense that (as Bill Bryson puts it) you might have if you were sent compromising photographs of a loved one.

What was the game where we were drawing 2-2, had used two subs, and Rafa brought Lucas on, leaving Robbie Keane on the bench? I remember putting my head in my hands and giving it the full Roy face-rub.

Nah he's shit, just imagine the quality of players we'd have right now if Ian Ayre was still here.
And I am yet to see a photo of him sheepishly arriving at an event with an embarrassingly young woman on his arm.

Twat of the Tournament
1 Neymar
2 Antoine Griezmann
3 Patrice EvraGriezmann and Evra are fine, fine twats but they must feel like actors did when Daniel Day-Lewis released a film, come awards time there's not much point even showing up.

I've been bemused at the smoke blown up Southgate's arse. There are thermophile bacteria living in the icy oceans of Europa who knew full well that Croatia's midfield was their ace in the hole and that Modric and Rakitic are their two main players. For some reason, Southgate played three against four, and two of them were Dele Alli and Lingard. Henderson had no time to do anything except hit it long, he had no one to pass to.
Bringing on Loftus Cheek for Sterling seemed obvious, or even for one of the centre-halves. But he basically handed the game to a hard-working but knackered side. England lost their best chance of a major final in decades because the manager got out tactic'd by Roger Federer's dad. Not, incidentally, that I care (by the way, although Croatia the team may be likable, their fans are every bit as bad as England's).
As for the defence - Walker at centre-half was a liability. He bookended the tournament by making mistakes that resulted in two out of the five goals that England let in.
And yes, this latest round-up is quite masterful.

I wouldn't want to come across as shallow but I also thought Vida looked ridiculous. If Legolas shagged Prince Charles that's how I imagine their child would look.
