  1. One penny coins are only legal tender for amounts up to 20p Learn something new everyday
  2. I want us to win the Europa League, that I am sure of. Talk of the tournaments prestige is largely irrelevant as it's mostly the non-winners deriding it. Tactically I'm split, I want and like to see the opportunity for players to stake their claim for a place in the first team, but not at the cost of winning. European games pose a different sort of challenge, the physicality and intensity mightn't be the best proving ground for youth players who could be better suited to a run out against lower placed PL teams. However with Everton at the weekend, I am in favour of resting some of our first team at Sion, if we had Sunderland, Watford or West Brom I'd be happy to play strong 1st team at Sion and have a few changes for the PL games.
  3. This. First season had an other worldly kind of feel to it, time seemed to stand still in the landscapes. Whereas LA by comparison has busy intersections and the city feels more like a typical cop show. I was hoping for more wierdness, yellowking, craftwork stuff etc, like when Bezzerides goes to the mansion or Velcoro/animal mask person. Still found it to be very watchable, but it doesn't have quite the same magic as the first.
  4. I don't know what your first sentence means. In the second you said people have the right to peacefully mock something ridiculous yet the scenario was evidently not peaceful. The drawing convention in the US was not peaceful. The event in London, will it be peaceful mocking of something ridiculous? I guess we'll see. Like Westboro Baptists that pickett funerals and shout at people in the streets to make their message clear. You can do it, yes you can and many do, but I just advocate not par taking in that behaviour and if you want to embrace activism use it in a more positive way, rather than drawing cartoons of Muhammed to fight terrorism.
  5. And these are only words. What harm can simple words do? I view the drawings and the anger surrounding it, relate to wider problems on a global scale, viewing the drawings purely in the context of art, well then sir, who could rationalize the killing of an artist?
  6. No-one is justifying, they are trying to explain and understand why the anger manifested the way it did. Your refusal to bear any of the responsibility on the newspaper and cartoonist doesn't appear balanced in it's appraisal. The picture was insulting and hateful. I don't believe there is merit in drawing depictions of the prophet Muhammed as some sort of weapon against terrorism, there is no bravery but in the heads of those fighting a fight against a conceived looming threat to the well being of the white western world and little england. If you go looking for a fight you'll be sure to find one. And this cartoon conference in London is itching for trouble. My freedoms are no safer because some Phil Mitchell wants to draw Muhammed cartoons, in fact it puts society more at risk.
  7. Lucas Digne's wikipedia says his current team is Liverpool. Must be true. Wiki
  8. Not a convincing performance from Liverpool even though we won. There are nice touches and bits of play from us, but too often it feels like a disjointed rhythm and not the kind of fluid style we're attempting to pull off. Of course the line-up has been moved around for the friendly fixture, and it's good to see the young players and new signings ease in. But the quality of both our first two pre-season games has been rather low. I'd like to see us be more clinical in front of goal and cohesive as a team in the rest of our pre-season matches.
  9. 'Strontium joins IS' should be the BBC's next sitcom, I'd watch it.
  10. That's brilliant, hadn't seen it until now. Moyes' best Manuel from Fawlty Towers impression!
  11. Brendan is high in misty mountainous peaks, mediating amongst wild lotus flower contemplating an inevitable return to the Premier League before he enters the 36th chamber.
  12. I didn't realise he was a write-off. Oh well, RIP Moreno then.

  14. Just finished the 6 episodes after seeing the recommendation on here. Terrific stuff, Andrew Jarecki's hard work paid off, I was on the edge of my seat near the end. Durst has such a chilling calmness. Memorable TV.
  15. She's on the left wing? Ahh that's sorted then, for years I wondered 'where are you?!?!' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_8JLkwzpd0
