I was about 15 when people started talking about Oasis and Definitely Maybe. They went though school like wildfire. The build up to Morning Glory was insane, it was absolutely massive. And all those B sides - amazing stuff. It was like having our own Smiths/Jam. Britpop might be sneered at now, but it was a fucking brilliant time to be a young person. I feel sorry for kids these days - social media shite, a pint is a fiver and everyone wants to look like Love Island.

I remember reading an interview with the comedian Rob Newman (Mary Whitehouse Experience) around that time, he was making the point that civilisation was peaking and pretty soon everything would turn to shit. I think of that comment quite a bit these days, as every day something else turns to shit.

My Sky Soundbox stopped taking remote input - both its own remote and the sky remote. Because I had to plug in a Google TV to test something (then take it out) it's buggered the inputs and I've tried every possibly input combination and nothing's working. The box is working fine - I can change it with the buttons on the box itself, but it won't take remote input at all. One of those tech things that is working one minute and not the next, and has you pulling your hair out.

We also have no young replacements for the wings. No exciting, quick, tricky lads to come off the bench for Salah or Diaz. I think that's an oversight, IMO. Elliott, Carvahlo and Jones all seem similar-ish players.
