  1. NSW (Australia) is increasingly a police state. Drug sniffer dogs are routinely used at music festivals and dozens if not hundreds of illegal body searches carried out, many of them on minors without an adult present. All gleefully endorsed by the Premier and Police Minister - who is also on record as saying it is good for children to fear the police. Fascist cunts.
  2. Sounds like one for @fesshole. Some side-splitting stuff.
  3. I didn't say it was for vegetarians but the vast majority of "meat alternatives" etc are soy based. The majority of, and the best, Australian lamb and beef is grass-fed, mostly on land that is otherwise unproductive (except of course for the original plants and animals on the land)
  4. It's what they do to them that is the problem. Soy is one of the most evil crops going. Between the genetic modifications and the environmental damage being done to grow more and more of the stuff. But then I only have qualifications in Biology, Environmental Studies, Horticulture and Med. Technology so what do I know.
  5. That's OK. The scum are such mental midgets, they will be believing it as well. The only competition will be Trent and Andy seeing who can get the most assists.
  6. I've just spent a few weeks back in Aus in my own house. Some sort of critter had been in in and scattered stuff all over the place. Ride on mower had cancer of the fuel lines, brush cutter (heavy duty strimmer) fucked, computer died, water pump and controller (only tank water at home) shit itself. Only one solution - hop on the plane back to Nam and hope for bushfire/tornado/cyclone to fix it.
  7. The next leader should be a sacrificial offering. Good enough to be a credible opposition leader and prepared to soak up all the Merde-och and Tory lies, smears and misinformation until the election is due and then resign in favour of someone with a chance of winning.
  8. Some horror matches here. Losing at Inter Milan in the European Cup SF to a bent referee in 65, after the elation of the first leg at Anfield in 65 (the best, most emotional match I've seen - until THE Barca match) is near the top of my list but the horror and humiliation losing 6 - 1 away to fucking Stoke under Rodgers tops my list. After a string of defeats there was no football for yonks afterwards to take my mind off it. Just waiting and hoping that Rodgers would get the arse. That season dropped him to just above the Owl in my personal Our Managers League.
  9. Nice to see you parroting the Merde-och bullshit about Shorten.
  10. Hazard reduction (also known variously as prescribed, planned, controlled or fuel-reduction burning) is the targeted burning of bushland to control fire behaviour (often in winter). Back burning is a last-resort measure to stop wildfire from burning out specific areas. It works by setting fires from containment lines, such as established fire breaks. NSW Rural Fire Service deputy commissioner Rob Rogers denied there had been less hazard-reduction burning than in previous years. “Hazard reductions have gone on each and every year”. He added hazard reduction on its own was not enough to prevent bushfires. "It’s very (insulting) to say they haven’t done enough of these burns, but the conditions have to be right to do hazard reductions. It comes down to cuts.” – Nathan Bradshaw, Public Service Association Problem is it’s drier and hotter. Around here we’ve been trying to do hazard reductions all year.” Blaming "greenies" for stopping these important measures is a familiar, populist, but basically untrue claim.” – Greg Mullins, fmr Fire & Rescue Commissioner. Hazard reduction burns cannot cover ALL the vulnerable areas and does nothing to prevent crown fires. Rainforest and swamps haven't been under threat before.
  11. Justified it by saying "I don't hold a hose". A bit like Churchill pissing off to Blackpool during the Battle of Britain becacause "I don't fly a Spitfire". He stayed and showed what leadership is all about.. This arsehole doesn't understand what leadership is.
  12. Current fires in NSW. https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/fire-information/fires-near-me 137 reported fires in NSW. Only 60 are under control. Merde-och press coverage in his flagship paper, The Australian, is on page 4.
  13. Yes, Australia has always had bushfires but never this many, so widespread, so early and so destructive. This year, they are different in many ways. It has nothing to do with the winter burnoffs - the current and ex fire chiefs and fire scientists agree. The burnoffs targets for NSW were met. Hot dry winters are not a good time for burnoffs. The LNP (Australias Tories) like to blame the environmentalists but is is the usual right wing blame shifting. Don't forget the rural fire service is volunteer - you can't expect them to do all the work that is necessary, especially when the LNP state gov't has gutted the capital funding budget. It actually costs to be a volunteer, no expenses paid for any travelling or out-of pocket expenses - some members of my local brigade travel 10 miles or more. We are in the middle of a horror drought symptomatic of the changing climate exacerbated by the corruption of the politicians and greed of large irrigators and miners who have managed to dry our largest river system and alter the water table. This has enormously increased the fuel loads especially in the crowns of the trees. The fires this season has burnt rainforests that were considered fireproof, swamps have burnt. The area and scale of the fires are unprecedented. Not only have mind boggling numbers of animals been roasted but the scale and intensity of the fires has destroyed entire ecosystems. I came back to Australia before Christmas to my home of 20 years to find a layer of ash from fires 20 km away, orange sunsets and a visible smoke haze. I leave again next week and I despair to think of what I will return to.
  14. That makes life easier. Don't worry about polarity or anything. It wants to be plugged in to a phone charger or a USB hole on a computer/laptop
  15. Alien overlords or Trump, Boorish Johnson, (Australian) Morrison and the rest of thr RWNJs. Tough choice
  16. It's not all bad news though. It looks like Swinsons got the boot.
  17. Yours isn't so much a death list as a wish list. Good luck!
  18. Thanks for the review. I might give it a go sometime if I'm not Geoblocked! https://www.amazon.com/Magician-Scott-Ryan/dp/B076X8W7G5/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?keywords=The+magician&qid=1575340881&sr=8-1
  19. Julie Newmar was the sexiest Catwoman of them all. Time has not been kind to Linda Koswalski, she was always a triumph of the make up artists skill.
  20. In my previous nom để forum as Aggers Elbow, I had been keeping Clive James alive for years. I will replace him with Dame Vera Lynn
  21. The judge was as impartial as Martin fucking Tyler at an LFC - Man Utd match. Doesn't matter how big the crime, some people never do the time. Rot in hell Duckenfield
  22. We're going to have to get a bigger scale. 10/10 just isn't enough for Mr. Inbetween. Everything about this show is just superlative. The script and the acting are just unbelievable. From brilliant humour to incredibly emotional scenes in the blink of an eye. I'm just waiting to have a quiet day to myself to watch both series from start to finish.
