There just seems a lack of urgency in a lot of the football I'm watching at the moment.

Pleased with this signing (assuming it happens, of course), as he's a very good player: fast, skillful, aggressive, etc. He's got a bit of nous, as well.

I didn't realize he was only 23, which makes it an even better signing.

They haven't even played yet and all their joy at winning the transfer window has dissapeared like a puff of smoke.

Poor buggers.

With the long/short offseason (title clinched early, no more meaningful LFC football yet CL etc matches all summer) I was a bit blase about this one.

At 1-1 I was furious, at 2-2 incandescent and at 3-3 I turned the TV off--it was that or break the screen.

Looking forward to the rest of the season.

Looks like City spent too much time believing it was their year, and not enough time preparing to make it so.

I was wondering last night if City would go in the tank to avoid a German shellacking.

I don't think they've done that; I think it's just down to them being a bit shit.

I'm a big fan of the metal ramekin to hold the beans, rather than the ceramic.

I'm guessing you could hit the former as hard as you possible could with a cricket bat and it would hold form as it carried the beans to a safe distance. Unlike the ceramic, which would shatter, scattering beans everywhere, turning a disappointment into a disaster.

Just watched a brief interview with someone named Katarina Barley, VP of the EU Parliament, apparently.

She answered every question clearly, candidly and with an obvious grasp of the various issues raised.

Very impressive.

No idea what her politics are but I wish we had a few more like her here in Canada, and everywhere else for that matter.

Silly social satire with a few good moments. 6 of 10

Similar to "The Hunt", thematically, but a much deeper movie. 8 of 10

The Prospect

Sci-fi that doesn't break any new ground, but is a very enjoyable watch. It would have been great to see in a theatre. 7 of 10

The Outpost

A bit like "Zulu" I suppose: cut off group of (US) soldiers against vast hordes of (Taliban) attackers. Based on a true story. Some excellent camerawork. 7 of 10

Earth and Blood

I just assumed it was made in Canada, as it was en Francais and set in at a sawmill.

Actually made in France/Belgium.

Watchable, but basically a "Die Hard" rip-off without the humour.
