Was supposed to be in Hanoi today, on my way to Singapore and then Colombo.
Fuck you, covid 19!
Instead, I spent last night watching "Waco".
An impressive production, over-all. 7 of 10
As always, it's hard to tell how accurate it is, but I think I agree with it's take on what happened there at the end.
The return to work recommendation, is that for everyone?
Or has there been some attempt to bring it in in stages, according to the work that's most necessary and/or those workplaces that can most easily be adjusted to allow social distancing, etc.
The first time I saw Spacey was in the TV show "Wiseguy".
His character was a bad guy, and his partner in crime, and everything else, was his sister.
Played an oddball as if he was born to the role.
Four Lions
That was an interesting experience.
Hilarious movie--the scene where he's telling his son the revamped version of the Lion King, the water-pistol fight with his wife and brother, and many more--but at the same time I kept thinking of Manchester.
I'd recommend it, in any event.
I'll leave you to parse the question of what role the ideology played in winning the war, defeating the Nazis, and ending the holocaust.
And whether or not it could have been achieved with the loss of fewer Russian lives.
As I said, there's just no pleasing some people.
They end the war, defeat the Nazis, stop the Holocaust, and yet it's not enough, as they didn't do it as efficiently as possible.
There's just no pleasing some people.
I'd say the defeat of the Nazis was the one event which you could say was a tremendous advert for the Soviet ideology.
It took one monstrous regime to defeat another.
But thanks for proving my point.

Calvary
Enjoyed them both.
I think the former could have dealt with the victims a bit more, to give the movie more emotional heft, but I still think it a good story, and an excellent example of the importance of the press (however belatedly).
I didn't know what the latter was about going in. I can't decide if it's a condemnation of Catholicism, or humanity as a whole.
"Deadwood" was amongst my worst.
I loved that show, the group of characters was fantastic. Great new character after great new character. I didn't want any of them to die, even the worst of the villains.
And it petered out like an old man's piss.
If it can be passed from adult to adult, and adult to child, what would be happening that it couldn't be passed from child to adult?
Are they somehow neutralizing the virus during respiration?
If so, someone better figure out how, toot sweet.
