Movies you could watch a hundred times...

The original, with Hackman and Pacino? Great movie. Hackman has made so many. I could add several of his to my list: Unforgiven, The Conversation, Bonnie and Clyde, French Connection

Thanks. I gues I'm down to hoping for narrow fairways and knee-high rough.

    The Official Golf Thread

I hope it's rainy and windy. Not a hurricane or anything. Just a little blustery. Like F1, golf is much better when they have to deal with a bit of adversity.
  5. Sorry, I'm Canadian. I get as balanced a perspective as possible, probably. Including the synthesis you recommend.
  6. What a fucked up country. Not this case, in particular. These types of things happen in every country. It's the extent to which every issue is sensationalized and politicized. There's no room for real discussion, or compromise, or reconciliation. Each side, in the press, in the legislatures, and in the street, takes their position, spins every element of every issue to match that position, and sees every result in terms of victory and defeat. It's no wonder the country is in such a mess.

Could have used an early goal, for sure. But it wasn't too bad. A few chances, and neither side quit attacking.

    Preston away

Controlled the ball, took the chances created, and no falling asleep/allowing a cheap goal on the counter. Can't wait for the next one.

Reveen was a hypnotist who travelled back and forth across Canada putting on shows. He'd get people up on stage, get them clucking like chickens, etc. I think he does "quit-smoking-through hypnotism" seminars now.

    Stacy Keibler

I like the fact that she doesn't have that phony plastered-on smile on her mug in every picture. Actually looks like a human being, instead of an advertisement for expensive dentistry. Plus her ass, of course.

At some point I'm guessing it was "eyebrow". Cute girl, in any event.

    Wimbledon 2013

Just pointing out that he has consisently made major finals over the past two years. And all he can do is play the opponent in front of him. I agree with the fatigue. It was so strange to watch. Del Potro is kind of an awkward player, and watching him vs. Djokovic in the semi only served to high-light how smooth a player the latter normally is. Watching that first set today, I kept thinking "Djokovic looks like Del Potro--always a bit off balance, not getting his body into proper position, not hitting it as cleanly as he normally does."

    Wimbledon 2013

Graphic during the broadcast said Murray was in the final of the last four grand-slams he's played in. So however Djokovic played--and admittedly he didn't play anywhere near his normal standard in the first set I watched--Murray being there and winning isn't a fluke or undeserved. Congrats to him.

Watched Spain lose to Uruguay 1-0 in extra time yesterday. Suso played the full 120, played well across the mid-field. Agree re France. From the matches I've caught, they look dominant.

    Mkhitaryan

The one thing I still don't understand is why they would tell anyone who our transfer targets are? I can't see it helping. It only puts them in the position of having egg on face if things don't work out.

    Mkhitaryan

It does bring Dempsey to mind. At least now there's time to find an alternative.

In any event, reading back through his columns, he does seem to be "in the know" when it comes to Liverpool's intentions.

If he wanted to play for LFC, and if there is a clause allowing him to break his contract for 19.8 million pounds, why didn't he do that?
