  1. Could players ask for their contracts to be terminated? Plenty of them won’t go homeless or short a job.
  2. I hadn’t realised that to be honest. Just goes to show how meaningless their dominance is. They’re just so concocted.
  3. BBC Radio 5 Live. In the Kitchen.
  4. There was a penalty shootout in NI a few months back where the keeper got sent off for leaving his line twice.
  5. I was going to say. Surely at Ajax you’re told how you’re going to play & who your squad is by the Club/Academy. Sure he’s done well with it, but that’s an ecosystem at work, not one manager.
  6. This is the only acceptable way he gets sacked in my book. Hopefully we win 12-0 to make it something that crushes him & them.
  7. Whilst it may be associated with less than great on the pitch, I always thought it was a beaut of a kit.
  8. Video no longer available. Is there another version out there?
  9. I’d love the Green version. But like you I cannot find it. One DHGate seller claimed he had it but they have stopped messaging back.
  10. Conor Bradley came on against Switzerland last night in Belfast for Northern Ireland. Defensively, NI were pretty tight throughout and he contributed to that when he came on in the second half. The highlight however was him smashing into a tackle beside the corner flag in the opposition half and both winning the ball and leaving a wee bit in on the Swiss fullback Rodrigues. 11. If the players refuse to make themselves available, the FA could invoke the five day rule anyway. It needs to be done as sensitively as possible up to the point of no return & then you pull rank.
  12. This. This is the first reaction to our Goalkeeper scoring a winner in injury time to keep a season alive. I love it. Maybe Achtenberg should be coaching the strikers, we've just been doing it wrong for all these years... Prunes!
  13. Yup, actions need to follow. Supporter Ownership should be the first job... Season Ticket Holders >5 years given a stake in the club. Perhaps those on the waiting list >10 years (no idea of the oldest tenure on the list to be honest, but you get the gist). I'd also be wanting to know what the fuck happened with the baldy journo they employed as a Supporter Liaison Rep... someone somewhere needs to be on the board to tell the fuckers not to fuck up again. Possibly on a twice daily schedule. They need to talk this stuff through with people who actually give a fuck about the Club. It's all well & good having Boston Ale induced brain farts, but someone needs to look at it in the cold light of day. Anfield Area regen... stadium development is all well & good, but it's in it for them as much as anyone... time for some good old fashioned US of A Philanthropy. You fucked up, time to pay up. Help those in the area of the Club you own. Properly.
  14. Yeah. A more equal distribution of cash should be now agreed.
  15. All of a sudden? They’ve been planning this for years.
  16. My Da has been saying for years that football is going the way of snooker. It was really popular so every weekend going was a new tournament. Everyone wanted their logo beside the game. So it saturated the schedule. To the point of boredom.
  17. The CL money distorted the game far more than PL breakaway. Even in small leagues like the Irish League some clubs use that cash to operate nearly full time in a part time league. It’ll never happen & maybe it’s too late but that cash should be distributed across entire pyramids to build the game equally. Yup. Clattenberg will be licking his lips. Aren’t there CL games at 1700/1800? People at work, with the family for dinner, etc. All done to maximise £££ of course. To be fair I might actually watch MOTD if it wasn’t on in the middle of the night. On a side note, in amongst all the cynicism it’s refreshing to see some naïveté regards Man City suddenly caring about financial rules because they’ve written them. Or that Peres / Agnelli will be the arbiters of justice when they find the team most likely winning this thing suddenly have been fiddling the books. City won’t play fair & they’re not getting kicked out for it.
  18. Maybe I’m missing something but why could the govt. not write the legislation to suit their ends with an 80 seat majority & likely support if the Labour Party? I’m not a lawyer so it seems to me there is little to stop them from doing what they want here.
  19. Re: the Gov't... yeah, it's probably hoping for too much, but if they fronted up, I'd be on board with punishing these six (twelve) clubs with every tool available. On the EFL, there's a certain sense in it. Depends on the impact on attendances though. I don't think Entertainment has been the problem. There are goals & controversy in most divisions at all standards.
  20. Just because UEFA, FIFA, PL, the FA etc. are a bunch of cunts, doesn't mean this is good or right in my view. I think FSG have made a terrible mistake, and whilst last night it was posturing as a negotiation tactic, pronouncements last night & today are more than that. The damage is done. I don't actually care about the greed. Football has crossed that bridge a long time a go. I care about the game, from grass roots to the top, it should be the same game. Closed shops aren't that. I've been fairly on board with the FSG model. They're frugal, I get that, they want the club to live within it's own means, fair enough. It's a better model than Qatar. But they are also meant to be the stewards of the brand, the culture & the history of the club. They've fucked up before, but IMHO this is crossing the Rubicon. Folks talk about smaller clubs inhibiting bigger clubs from doing what they want (whilst simultaneously gurning about stopping smaller clubs from doing what they want with ticket prices when big clubs come to town). But if it wasn't for those same clubs, LFC wouldn't be what it is. We wouldn't have bought Andy Robertson from Hull. We wouldn't have won league titles, or European Cups. It's an eco system, there are synergies. I think turning your back on that, and yes, that's how I'm reading it, is abhorrent in a sporting context (yes, there are worse things in life). I'd throw the book (all the books) at them. Huge point deductions this season to basically ensure none of them qualify for anything. I'd be handing the FA Cup over to Leicester, and stripping Man City of the League Cup. I'd be awarding the European Cup to Fucking PSG (of all fucking cunts) on the basis the other three are in this shit up to their oxsters. And then there is next season. I'd turf them all out of both the PL & the FA - they wouldn't qualify for the CL of course due to said points deduction. They can start their basketball roadshow early. People say that sponsors won't like that... well good. The Clubs can sit down & start cutting their own cloth to match their needs. Football has been a bubble waiting to burst for years, now the Clubs and the authorities have the chance to control it (to a degree). The chance to return the country's national sport to an even keel. Oh but all the best players will leave... they can't all go play for 16 clubs. There will still be quality about. The league will probably be more competitive and entertaining as a consequence. It'll have a breath of fresh air actually. The inevitable march of Qatar FC to the title 4 seasons in 5 gone... As for the Gov't intervening, yeah, I'm all down with that. Someone said that Gov't interference is strictly prohibited by FIFA / UEFA. I'm sure FIFA / UEFA would be happy to see these clubs lose their membership. And after that, all is fair in my book. Club Ownership rules changed would be tremendous, though can't see that happening soon. I'd withdraw police services, making it impossible for councils to licence full attendances, maybe withdraw their liquor licences, etc. loads of petty small things which make it harder, if not impossible to do business. I'd create a new tax bracket for employees of the Companies involved in "The Super League". 99% tax above average national wages. Lets see how many want to work/play for FSG FC if the wedge isn't coming home. Fuck it, this isn't in the national interest... if the Gov't said they wanted to put sanctions on the companies involved, I'd be all for that too. There is no lever I wouldn't pull to punish the cunts involved. Maybe it'd accelerate them shipping out of the country. Oh well. Fuck them. Fuck FSG.
  21. Do you know who Klopp is going to replace your nephew with yet?
  22. Says the fella who, in creating a thread about his favourite team in Glasgow, misnamed his favourite team in Glasgow.
  23. As far as I'm concerned, the eye gouging thing should make him ineligible to work (was going to say in football, but fuck it, down the cafe, or sweeping streets) in this country. What an absolute cunt of a thing to do. My TV signal was alright, but after about 15 minutes died... Couldn't get it back on at all. So I watched on my phone and that was great throughout.
  24. On the Spurs goal, did the pass go through cleanly to Son or did it deflect off the Spurs player in between? Only saw it the once & thought it deflected through - could be completely wrong of course. VAR didn’t seem interested in that...
