I still can't tell if the British government are simply as incompetent as they appear or they are just pressing on with their original desire to achieve herd immunity. Probably both.

Things will be better next winter. That's reassuring. It's only about 14 months away.

Although it would probably be slightly more effective than wearing nothing over your face. All of these 100%/0% mask arguments are a bit dull. If everyone wore a NASA space suit the numbers would probably be lower than they are, if no-one wore any type of mask at all the numbers would probably be higher. "Yeah, but we've been wearing masks and yet some people have died" doesn't seem like much of an argument (I'm obviously not suggesting you're making it).
  5. Gil Scott Heron didn't make the 64, did he?

Rate the last film you watched...

Keep The Change - 7.5/10. Really enjoyed this.

Would you prefer to wait until they are? We're at the stage of last resort because the track and trace system might as well have been designed by Simon.

What happens when Southampton and/or West Ham are inevitably relegated? Will they be calling the shots from mid table in the Championship?

England are losing because Belgium are lifting their game because they're playing at Wembley.
  10. Difficult this. You couldn't pay me to listen to either of them. Abstain.

Was just thinking what a hilarious mismatch it is. Southgate appears to be attempting to create the shittest team possible with the players available.

    Eric Dier is incredibly shit.

There is always the slight chance the press may remind the public as well.

    Thiago Alcantara

Yeah, no fucking about taking half a dozen games to get up to speed. Straight in, high standard from the first minute, injured in the next training session.

Yes, agreed. Although the option for most of these British and Irish lads isn't United/Liverpool or playing in Holland. It's playing for Doncaster/Swindon or playing in Holland. Being a professional footballer, especially pre having a family when these lads are in their early and mid 20s (obviously upping sticks can be tougher after that), offers such a great opportunity for travel. And to become a better player. Imagine if by the age of 25 instead of bumbling around League One and the lower half of the Championship you'd spent a couple of years in Holland, Italy and Germany. You'd have a much deeper understanding of the game.

    Thiago Alcantara

I'd play Henderson, Milner and Thiago, and have Fabinho in defence (unless Matip is actually back).

I suppose most of those countries used to have better domestic leagues due to a less unequal share of money in the game. Now any half decent Bulgarian will be taken from Levski Sofia when they're 17, and spend six years on Lazio's bench and/or have various utterly pointless loan deals. Loads of international teams are full of players having to play in lower leagues (in strong football nations) or not playing at all. 30, 40 years ago these international sides would have several players often playing together at a handful of clubs. The problem is maybe slightly different for the British teams. Their problem is often a complete reluctance for players to play their club football abroad. Welsh, Scottish and Irish players playing in League One or for shit Championship sides. Hardly surprising when their national teams look like lower league teams.
  18. Ray Charles, and by some distance. Orbison is better than the majority that will get through round one though.

Do Wales or Ireland have any good players? Looks like a League two game this.
  20. I agree, it should be Giggs. However, if he's overlooked in favour of Paul Ince you could understand their thinking.

    Summer 2020 Transfer Thread

I just can't see Klopp, now, chucking Adrian in the sea. I think he'll be in nets for the next couple of months and Klopp will instruct everyone not to pass him the ball. With Matip (for however long) and Henderson back, and maybe Milner playing some games, he'll hopefully have less to do.

Just been endorsed by the Taliban. That should help.
