  1. I thought they'd tried but because he'd represented all the French youth teams England got told to fuck off.
  2. Not sure that England are allowed Welsh players either.
  3. I don't mind pretending to be the England manager, but I draw the line at adding Chilean players to the side.
  4. Neuer Lahm Silva Chiellini Alba Gerrard Schweinsteiger Iniesta Messi Suarez Ronaldo My England team for the World Cup.
  5. I think Agger is probably too slow for the way we play. The way Soldado stripped him a couple of weeks ago was frightening. I agree that Jagielka is a better defender overall at the moment.
  6. Depends entirely on how you want to defend. I'd want to defend quite high up the pitch, therefore would want the pace of Caulker over Jagielka.
  7. The season does seem like a bit of a failure, to be honest.
  8. The media don't help. I posted about it on the Everton v United blog and it was swiftly deleted. I wasn't offensive or sweary, just enquiring as whether anyone at the Guardian thought it was newsworthy. The answer, presumably, a resounding yes. Hence them not printing it.
  9. I'd want a left footer as the inside right forward, and Puncheon scores goals, in a really shit team. Townsend is fucking terrible, not convinced with Johnson...then er...Downing? Give Puncheon a go.
  10. That's fair, and despite having reservations with him I wouldn't entertain binning him this summer. He definitely deserves another season. It doesn't strike me as something that would be impossible to sort out either. Get him to hit the gym a bit more, not to the extent where he looks like he could bench press a tractor (as Reina did in his last season or two), and get him practicing clearing man and ball from crosses. Keepers get a ridiculous amount of protection from refs and almost never get penalised for twatting people in mid air when claiming a cross. You simply have to take advantage of that.
  11. Yeah, I can't hate City. If you have a sport that has been allowed to become more like an entertainment business then blaming individual clubs for simply having money, and exploiting loop holes, seems futile, to me. It could have been Brentford, or Cheltenham Town. The manager is a pretty respectful guy, the players are obviously pampered millionaires detached from reality, but not especially hateful, and the fans seem largely to still just be enjoying the ride. Rather than having the arrogant entitlement that so many Chelsea fans seem to have. Chelsea were a horrible club before the money. The money has simply allowed them to display it more vividly.
  12. Forster Flanagan Caulker Cahill Baines Gerrard Henderson Lallana Puncheon Sturridge Sterling ATTACK. ATTACK. ATTACK. ATTACK. ATTACK.
  13. You're right. The act of supporting a club, being part of a collective, is something that seems really forced for Chelsea fans. They've clung on to the only thing that truly binds them. Hatred.
  14. Yeah, as a collective they're comfortably the worst in the country. With an owner, manager, and several players that accurately reflect their repulsiveness.
  15. Thankfully there were at least a couple of posters, mainly older fellas, who pulled them up on it. Some of them seemed genuinely annoyed that other clubs had joined us in support and paying respects with banners etc. I simply can't comprehend what goes through the mind of someone like that.
  16. Well that was a mistake having a quick look on The Shed End forum. Quite a lot of them seem to want to win more than ever because they're sick of hearing about Hillsborough.
  17. Same, no idea about replacements. I do worry that more teams, especially Palace, and next season of course, will just lump balls into the box for the whole game. Mignolet either leaves it, inside his own six yard box for the defenders to deal with, or flaps at it. Its an impossible job for the centrebacks, and no wonder Skrtel had the odd clanger earlier in the season. He doesn't look very strong, Mignolet. In much the same way that Reina looked too bulky, to the point where he wasn't agile enough, Mignolet is the opposite.
  18. "Through thick and through" Well, quite.
  19. Raheem, Raheem, Raheem, Raheem I'm begging of you please take on that man Raheem, Raheem, Raheem, Raheem Please just take him on because you can
  20. If we win the league Code should be allowed to come back for a week. As long as he writes a poem about his love for Rodgers.
  21. He seems to know what he's talking about. Way off about United though, they'll be 7th.
  22. I think the choice may have been purely because Lucas is a better header of the ball and Rodgers expected them to punt more balls into the box.
