  1. meant to say, our u16 last year were unbeaten from december to end of season and now most aren't playing
  2. 16's are ok but being bolstered now by lots of buys. That seems to be the policy now buy at 15, 16, 17 18, 19. which I can understand if we are being better, but i have to say we're not. When you invest you have to develop and play and that is pushing out all but 1 or 2 of our local talent. I can see lots of local boys moving on through lack of game time at u16's /u18's even b4 reserves. that's not cos they aint good enuff but not getting chances. Dunny is a good player, thanfully they think well of him so he's gettin a chance but i could name 5 others who are way down the pecking order due to buys! at u16/u18, ressies.
  3. certainly morgo, local and hungry, wants to win, sterling looks ok, but can go missing big risk for what he cost. Andre needs to play centre back and learn to play a bit more..... we've just bought a 14 year old for 1 million from mk dons apparantley! that's what's killing our team.....LFC no class at the mo
  4. Watched the boys at u16/u18 and reserves level this year. Must say don't think we're good enuff. Only 3.5 scousers in the team tonite. maybe the money spent on buys and pro deals are getting found out? If you look at the kids doing well, they've all been there since shannon, heighway days! Regan didn't come off with next gen in mind at the week end he came off for footballing reasons.....!
  5. Ritchie spot on re the system, I think Brad Smith is with the reserves now, perhaps we could have played Wilson right back and Alma, CB... although, considering we let in 3 goals I think the defence didn't do too bad today!! Derby had some older, wiser, sronger lads...we did lack attacking options though down the flanks....
  6. Hi Dave good report as ever, I saw a lot of the game as well as some of the u 16's game. U16's were unlucky with that score line by the way. Interesting comments on the system, i really agree 100% we are quite rigid with systems, Ritichie mentions this too and I think we have the players and squad to be a lot more flexible. Derby played 2 up front, number 9 was 19 by the way and had appeared for their first team! Given a lot of our lads are still 16, Dunn, Quirk, Wilson, Lussey, Baio, Gainford etc its a big gap eh?? We're coached to play out from the back and at times this just plays into the hands of teams set out as derby were. I do think if we had taken our chances in this game especially in the first half we would have been deserved winners. A decent game to watch though, when our younger players mature (undouted quality throughout) we will give most teams problems and win most games... keep the reports coming......
  7. good signing, just a forward now, only cover is ngog for carrol an suarez... at cb we have some decent prospects behind agger, skirtel, carra, kyri..... like kelly, wisdom, sama...or bring wilson back...
  8. just meant to mention there was another portuguese player with the current u15's from Oldham/lisbon... YAYA?? he left... rumour was he wasn't 15! Not sure if thats correct.
  9. Hi Dave, I'm new to TLW.. great reports keep it up mate. I'm pleased you got to see the u16's I've watched them a few times this year when I've had a chance too....and they've absolutely terrored teams from front to back! Interestingly last year they were mainly considered as average! Bayo and Moli are good additions, I'm sure they may have slept a few years though?? Jack dunn and Jord Lussey are good local lads who have been around a while and seem well thought of. Lussey looks neat and tidy. Jack dunne, exciting and willing to shoot from anywhere. Great left foot. My query is around gainsford and wilson. Gainsford appears to have great movement, playing on the left, he looks a natural striker to me? Obviuosly a development position? Wilson has been a natural leader in all the games I've seen but no real fuss about his performance. A carra type tackler at times but happy to chat his team mates through games and not stand out. Good header of the ball. have these been around a while? And signed? Wonder if any of your TLW members could shed any light on these two? Keep up the good work..
