    Simon, ryvita is basically cardboard so rather than print a book of ryvita recipes why not make ryvita with recipes printed on them so people can discover your wonderful gourmet ideas and already have the main ingredient to hand.     Stalin pretty much wiped out the church in Russia during the 30's, killing hundreds of thousands and used atheism as an excuse. I've worked & lived in Eastern Europe a fair bit over the last 5 years and have heard plenty of anecdotal evidence from friends about communism & atheism. Parents unable to tell their children basic bible stories in case the kids repeated them at school. The threat wasn't usually death - you would be given a shit apartment to live in, you'd get the shittiest jobs, wouldn't be allowed a holiday or a car. Generally they would make your life a misery & the person who grassed you would be rewarded. I'm guessing that you're going to say that it wasn't about atheism, it was about keeping power. However removing a girl's clitoris with a rusty blade has got nothing to do with religion and everything to do with power over women. Not really that different

    Maybe semantically incorrect but I'm talking about atheists who become incredibly intolerant of any non-atheist view. People who refuse to accept that any good may come from having a belief in God. They may not be flying planes into Skyscrapers but you could point to Stalin as using atheism as an excuse for murder

    Not religious myself but some atheists drive me mad. They take their own beliefs to the level of fundamentalism and fail to see the irony in it

    From what I understand, Ofcom can do the Fit & Proper test at any point so if the police investigation results in prosecution of directors I think that they'd be forced to. Prosecutions in the US would be the real killing point for him though

    Some of the investors are already suing him and he's having to spend $5bn on a share buyback to keep the others happy. Plus I reckon that there is no chance of his son being voted back onto the News Corp board. Quite hilarious really.

    Would disagree to the extent that they didn't want to know what was in the binbags so didn't really look, they didn't want to open Pandora's Box. This is just as bad. As for above, it was more my opinion of how he should be handling this rather than any sort of support for what he's done

    Desmond is as bad as Murdoch in his own way. Hopefully Ofcom would stop him under the media plurality laws.
