  1. Is Owen Beck likely to be in the first team squad next season?
  2. I love him. I thought he was playing outstandingly well before his injury in 2020. It seems obvious that he is fourth choice at the moment. He has improved aerially but isn't as good there as the other 3 - a pretty high bar. Van Dijk and Matip will be 31 in the summer and the latter has known injury issues. Would we want to sell him now? I wouldn't be surprised if we let him go on loan for a season to see if he can get back to his best. Villa might love him. Is Van den Berg ready to be 4th choice?
  3. Based on one video I think Ramsay looks class. Not sure he'd physically manage in the PL yet. Swapping him with Neco could make sense if we think he's potentially world class and Neco isn't. Given he's 2 1/2 years younger that isn't an unreasonable possibility. Don't forget Sepp also returning in the summer. He may be more of an option at centre back long term.
  4. That's what I love about Klopp. Never afraid to make big calls.
  5. I said we should sign Danjuma in the summer. I also wanted Adam Hlozek. Nothing has changed my mind
  6. I don't know how many assists he gets technically speaking but to play a major part in all five goals away from home in the CL is remarkable.
  7. I said Diouf but I'm not sure Anelka was the answer either. Look at his record after leaving us. Had his moments but hardly stellar.
  8. Diouf. Big money, we signed him at a time when we needed that bit extra to kick on and we went backwards. Jean Michel Ferri was an excellent signing. For £1.5m Houllier got an excellent mole in the squad who told him all the players to kick out.
  9. Surely there will be the possibility of a lot of players out of contract in the next year or two as the covid debts start to bite? Our owners won't borrow money the way others have. Generally speaking that's a principle I agree with and we are getting the new stand at the Anfield Road. I get the frustration with United signing Varane, Sancho and Ronaldo but they'll have to deal with those debts in due course.
  10. I'm not sure either Moreno or Luis Alberto were such bad signings. The latter we signed young and has gone on to have a very good career. Moreno wasn't great but far from terrible and people forget that Robbo didn't immediately displace him from the side.
  11. Not detecting bitterness from Pep. I think Ox in midfield might be okay so long as you have two of Fabinho Henderson and Thiago alongside him. I don't think him and Keita work well together.
  12. With his expertise in PEDs wouldn't Klopp be the ideal coach for Ronaldo to work with at this stage of his career?
  13. What would Adam Hlozek cost? If Klopp doesn't fancy Jota through the middle he looks the perfect long term replacement for Bobby and can play across the front 3
  14. Given the injury history of our midfielders if we aren't going to sign one I think we should definitely sign another forward* and consider going 4-2-3-1 at times. *Even if it means a loan for Origi rather than a sale. I just don't see what he offers us.
  15. Ox and Keita have big wages for players who are 5th/6th choice. Of course no-one else is going to pay those wages.
  16. I think you could also argue that it was Di Steffano who invented the no.10
  17. True but everyone thought the Carroll fee was inflated - for reasons we could bore on about. There's also no reason for foreign clubs to pay the English tax. I'd have thought there'd be better value in the current market but maybe Abraham hasn't been managed properly.
  18. Beckenbauer Xavi Rijkaard Amazed there haven't been more votes for Beckenbauer
  19. That's £6m I didn't see coming. Someone needs to come in for Luis Alberto now. What about Danny Ward? He did really well at the Euros. Ward is a strange one. He has been sitting on the bench for years.
  20. As I said yesterday for £20m Danjuma looks an interesting wild card.
  21. Tidy little player, good touch, good left foot, wins the ball back and might suit a mid table premier league team. I can't see him helping us much against the park the bus sides at Anfield. Only logic to it is the home grown quota. But if we were that worried about it why did we give Adrian an extension? I'd also probably keep Ox over Keita than spend £35m on Bowen.
  22. Yeah but that's got nothing to do with football.
  23. Expected some premier league interest in Davies.
