  1. My question was a bit rhetorical really; clearly they have gone for experience but its a bit 'wing and a prayer' stuff in the face of his recent form when it could be argued there is little to lose and maybe a lot to gain by rewarding Bairstow... but given your 'fucking hell' comment I dont suppose you would disagree with me either
  2. She wasnt even an old person or anything that might have excused her
  3. There was one sat in the outside lane driving alongside me this afternoon...I thought of this thread as I had to slow down in order to let the thing pass so that I could turn right to get home
  4. Is Warkworth near a river? I remember watching a programme years ago in which Jack Charlton was talking about Warkworth being one of his favourite places but I have a picture in my head of him down by a river. I've driven by the sign on the A1 loads of times and always think I should go
  5. Good on him! This was the first year in what feels like a lifetime that I wasnt waiting for results to arrive..and it felt good....way too involved for my own good.
  6. I do like a good castle myself. I like the whole spectrum from pretty much near ruins like Helmsley Castle in North Yorkshire (sorry, cant be arsed to find pictures) where you get to wander round pretty much unhindered and you're pretty much left to your own imagination through the likes of Bamburgh (a great shout, Jairzinho, and the walk out to Lindisfarne) to the Warwick Castle type 'experience. Although, having said that, today I'd probably lump for the more ruined variety with a few explanation boards Those pictures of Conwy and Rochester castles look great, Lurtz
  7. Oh, C, I dont need that awful image of Frank Butcher wearing just that ridiculous bow tie and a silly grin as he turns up on Pat's doorstep
  8. The only person I ever heard say this was Pete Beale on Eastenders. No thanks. And princess????
  9. I'm giving you a bad look..its a good job you cant see it...you'd be shaking in your shoes (in my dreams)
  10. I start from a position of complete ignorance not having seen the programme but is the same C4 that's going to be broadcasting the Paralympics next week?
  11. I know where you're coming from...and I'm sure even the organisers can hardly have dared hope the Olympics would have been the success they were but I think that will now work to the paralympics' advantage with people wanting to get a bit more of that feeling. I was going to say it is a shame the BBC didnt get the coverage rights but I'm now interested to see what C4 make of it
  12. Panic not..at least not yet anyway.....I meant it looked like the programme that was on last night is going to be on every night this week. Dont know about after that. Curiously, Clare Balding was on it...not sure if she was a guest or a presenter Guessing we're moving to the Paralympics thread now?
  13. And then there's the double whammy ...a Nissan Micra with one of those Christian fish things on the back
  14. Just caught the end of a programme building up to the paralympics presented by Jon Snow. Looks like its going to be on nightly...C4
