  1. Would that be the debts that FSG paid off when they got the club on the cheap ?
  2. It's something the club should look at. But it would mean Sky losing out financially, so there would have to be a "compromise" struck somewhere. Considering the dodgy quality of the odd stream I've had to watch, I'd happily give the club my Sky subscription every month during the season if I got to see every game live on my TV.
  3. This club has always been bigger than any player. Nobody wants to lose world class players. No self respecting Liverpool fan wants to the likes of Suarez in a shirt that isn't ours. But if they're determined to go, then bye bye, thanks for the memories and bring on the next one. It's down to the suits to bring in the next generation with the money generated from the sale. It didn't work out with Comolli, but it ain't half improved in this calendar year.
  4. Just out of interest, can you name one "key" player that FSG have sold who didn't want to go ?
  5. And what's the alternative if a player decides he wants to go ? Gun against the head ? Remember the commodities you're talking about are people, who have their own plans for life. You can't blame the owners if foreign players don't like our shit weather/country/whatever and decide to head for warmer climates. All they can do is hold out for the maximum fee and try to re-invest properly.
  6. That's a good thought provoking post. When I was a kid, there was so little televised football on, I would have watched Barrow in Furness reserves if it was on tv. Now that viewing time is saturated (during the season), I can't be arsed watching much more than our boys. Match of the Day is there for the rest. But I do want to see ALL of our games live. My mood is generally not good if I miss a game - ask the wife & kids !
  7. Who was that King who tried to stop the tide coming in a few hundred years ago ? That's the likes of Sky Sports, the music industry etc. Look indignant in the papers, wave a few pound notes around and shut one or two big name sites down. Meanwhile in the real world, we just switch to an alternative. Or wait 20 minutes for another site or 5 to replace the ones that got closed. They shackled the likes of Kazaa and E-Donkey. Did it stop pirate downloads ? Didn't even dent it. The fucking bell ends at the top never learn. Have no worries people, as long as we've got reliable broadband we'll have live footie.
  8. My Dad always taught me not to mock the afflicted. But he never came in here.
  9. What, you mean you're on the fourth floor of the nut house then ?
  10. Medication wearing off then ?
  11. Watching the en masse celebration to his goal, I couldn't help thinking "for fucks sake watch what you're doing with him - he's brittle." But his first couple of touches were class. There's nowt wrong with the finish either. Hopefully that's a sign of things to come.
  12. I could watch the lad all day. Seriously. He should be one of the players we keep at all costs, no matter who else may be leaving. Some of the passing in that clip is fucking outrageous. Provided he stays injury free and stays on track, he is going to be massive for us in the near future. At 20 years of age, his potential is fucking huge. Give it another season or two and we'll be fending the usual mega rich suspects off with a sharp stick for his signature.
  13. Coutinho is a bit like that, no ? There's a game plan slowly drifting into place here....... I hope he can take the physical side of the Prem, because that's probably the biggest surprise I've had with Little Phil. Watching him bounce barcode shirts all over the place at St James Park was as much of an eye opener as his obvious passing ability. Deceptive little bugger, Milan are right to feel we robbed them blind.
  14. Does "sound lad" translate from Norwegian as "dock walloper" ?
  15. I can't agree with the one word description of Allardyce there. The words "cunt" and "fat" are missing.
  16. This. The scum have been relatively poor this season, but with RVP nicking winners regularly, they have somehow smuggled yet another title. Outscore the opposition & be adaptable to do it.
  17. When I first looked at it I thought it was Damien Comolli with tits. Blatter should have gone to SpecSavers, but they probably don't take dirty cash.
  18. I was curious about this too. What if Madrid were to pay £50 million for Luis, and from day 1 him and the incoming manager fucking hate each other ? There probably is interest from Madrid, but I certainly wouldn't be relying on the British press for anything factual. More guesswork and just plain make it up to sell their shitey rags.
  19. From the point of view of having an attacking player who can unlock stubborn defences, this lad could be our best signing for years. 20 years of age and he's playing like this in his first few months in the Prem ? His potential is staggering, and I absolutely love the way he shrugs people off the ball and can handle the physical side. We need referees to man up now though, 'cos he will be a "marked man" next season. The Stoke-like neanderthal cloggers in the division will have no alternative but to break the rules to stop him and he will have to face some brutal treatment. We could do with a Souness type in midfield, just to look after kids like Phillipe, someone who can leave his foot in to deliver a warning to dirty cunt opponents when needs be. IF he fulfils his potential, we will be talking about him soon in the same way we do Xabi Alonso.
  20. Are you not posting in a Rafa related thread ? So what else would you be posting about ? The state of the economy ? The weather ? Whether the best of you ran down mum's ass crack ?
  21. At a rough guess that one opinion that would be correct would coincidentally be yours ? How can an opinion be correct, or incorrect ? It is a personal observation. You're flapping like a landed fish now.
