  1. think we can safely say anyone who doesn’t rate him can be entirely ignored on any football related opinion
  2. I understand that and normally I’d agree, but this is a thread about the situation. This is the situation. Women’s and children being blown to bits and murdered throughout every day while our governments and media say very little about it and are completely complicit in it happening. Nobody wants to see images of dead children, nobody. But while they are being killed every minute these images have to be seen and the stories told, however uncomfortable and troubling it is to see them it’s better than being suppressed and not seen. And that means shows everywhere including a thread on a football forum about the subject. You can’t water it down, it’s as bad as the horrific images suggest it is
  3. Where should these photos be shared though in all seriousness. They do have to be seen and have to be documented. This is what is trying to be silenced and suppressed/ignored. And the Israeli government and a lot of its folllowers claim these are staged
  4. Agree, didn’t feel like that when Henderson left us in the lurch but exactly as Klopp said, the vacuum has enabled others to grow leadership wise
  5. think ‘over the top’ sums the previous paragraphs in this post up quite nicely. Absolutely he should be finishing the one on one Dubravka saves, and he has to get to the level where at least one of the other half chances or snapshots goes in. But as long as we stay behind him he will. People talk about ‘top striker’ but he wasn’t signed as that, and you don’t get one for that kind of money either. Look at Hjolund. Look at Jesus who never even has any shots or ever looks likes scoring. He has world class attributes in terms of his pace and movement, and his link play and awareness is improving immeasurably, as is his pressing. I bet he rattles them away in training, he’s just not yet got to the stage where it’s converting to matches, but it will. He’s never going to be harry kane deadly in terms of dead eyed finishing, but almost nooone in world football is. He will iron the finishing out I’m sure. I was worrying about him a bit a couple of games away where he went quiet and wasn’t involved in chances. As long as he’s getting them and involved as much as he is I don’t worry as they will come.
  6. Maybe Klopps statement is an exaggeration, because if that’s the case it does slightly ring alarm bells about his capacity to function as a professional athlete. There are some people unfortunately who’s bodies just betray them.
  7. Excellent again last couple of starts after a couple of (rare) anonymous performances before that. He always looks a threat, and the goals WILL come. You’ve got a problem if you’ve got a striker who never looks like they’re threatening the opponents or the goal. Gabriel Jesus springs to mind. Also his general link up play and team work rate is now at a very high level and he’s winning the ball back off opponents regularly. Just keep playing him (as we surely will now Salah is off to afcon)
  8. Quansah is at absolute worst a more than reasonable 5th choice premier league centre half. At best who knows what his ceiling is. Endo is showing why klopp was so delighted to get him and looking like a bargain
  9. I mean yeah but I can’t imagine Klopp said just start slow and take it easy. I thought Arsenal were initially exceptional, came flying out absolutely possessed and we were trying to settle ourselves down when we conceded early. was very impressed we reimposed ourselves on the game
  10. Imagine being second in the league by a point way ahead of expectations and coming online and aiming the absolute amount of nonsense vitriol some of this thread is. Embarrassing frankly. You should try have a shit right back out for size, swap for Rhys James or Wan Bissaka? Fuck me. State of it. And to add to that, being from Liverpool, having produced everything you have for the club, producing an incredible assist yesterday and actually a generally a good performance, and some absolute weapons are still on a little thread on the internet still digging you out. Laughable
  11. No. I agree there are games and have been times particularly last season where his attitude and body language haven’t looked right defensively, but yesterday wasn’t one of them and actually when it comes to the big games (Man City was another one) I don’t worry about him defensively or a lapse in concentration as it focuses him and he’s in my view been excellent in both of those.
  12. What the actual fuck are these comments. Players miss chances. It’s an absolutely terrible miss but the ball slightly bobbles up as he hits it, it’s consistent with how he usually strikes those kind of shots he just gets it wrong. And he absolutely should be there as that’s how we’ve attacked for years. He’s scored goals not disssimilar (Leicester at home in the 4-0 spring to mind) when we break and he breaks forward as well. starting to get really angry at the criticism of him. He’s fucking brilliant and we’re lucky to have him. He was also excellent defensively yesterday.
  13. We’re not signing anyone. Klopp will fancy we can get by with the 4 remaining attackers plus Elliott while Salah is away.
  14. You played football manager before? Yeah easy innit. Maybe we should ask fsg and klopp to get some advice from Todd boelhy on buying players and success. Even if it was that easy it’s not how it works, and never has or will be how klopp works. I thought Klopp summarised it well when he said arsenal are really good, but luckily it turns out so are we
  15. Don’t underestimate Arsenal are a very good side and turned up today absolutely fired up. We wrestled control from them and they spent most of the rest of the game playing on the counter. Love this side.
  16. You’d have thought Arsenal battered us 5-0 judging by the comments on here. I thought we were the better side despite not playing anywhere near as well as we could have done in the final third. Trent finishes that chance 98 times out of 100
  17. Thought Trent played a decent game as right back today, not sure what else people expect. Not sure why Nunez would be culpable in any way for anything today? whole team put an absolute shift in despite several players unfortunately still being out of form. We went one nil down and came back. A lot to like about the performance
  18. Mad for how incredibly good both were, both careers were hugely diminished by injury and underachievement
  19. This is an accurate summary. It’s the right, and fairest solution of all those available. Sadly won’t happen because of the fact it would mean there is no ‘Jewish state’. Worth noting that there is no other state in the world that declares itself the state of a religion (and it’s not really in the name of that religion really anyway). It would also dilute the us power to use Israel as a proxy state in the Middle East if all of its Arab inhabitants had equal voting rights. But it’s the most right solution and one the Arab would accept. 20 percent of the population of Israel already is an (oppressed) Arab Palestinian population who just want equal opportunities and probably don’t really care what you call the land, they just want peace and equal rights. its a failure of western democratic ideals to not enable this to be a reality
  20. Absolutely agree what we’re doing tactically isn’t helping him or any of our forwards at the moment The only person our tactical set up seems to be absolutely benefitting is enabling Trent to live out his childhood dream of being Stevie G
  21. Up until last couple of games I’d say he’s been performing well in the main and looking like our main threat without getting the goals. Not sure what’s happened but last 2 maybe 3, for the first time, he’s not performed well or looked a threat.
