  1. As is your right, one that we should all hold dear
  2. You're gradually beginning to get closer to my suggestion Now that is a good point, one i hadnt thought of, that should be part of the consideration.
  3. Yes he is, but i'm not really sure where you're going with this
  4. Why do you think that? I want them to have security of tenure, like you, and i want them to be able to stay as tennants without being evicted for non payments, again like you.
  5. I made my initial comment saying they should be forcibly made to have payments direct at the bottom of page 1. At the top of page 2 I clarified by stating it should be for those in arrears. You must have missed it. Also I made or make no distinction between private or council landlords
  6. I did quite clearly state that it should be for those people that have got into arrears, not just because you are on benefits. I know i'm painfully stupid and you are quite obviously on a higher plain but you really should read what i put instead of playing the man and not the ball. I do note that your tone has changed and now you agree that landlords should be able to request payments directly when consistently falling into arrears.

  8. Oooh, does that sort of thing go on? Do tell
  9. Im busy in the winter too. Come on over, I'll do you a cheap rate
  10. Dear Mr Wolf TK is being childish again
  11. Do you advocate that people in receipt of free council rent or free council tax should be given the money first so that they have the personal choice as to whether to pay it? Or is them not seeing the money maggie territory?
  12. I am purely going by what you said. You said you wanted to get rid of all landlords, you said it. Now you are blathering on about fairer tenancies, I agree, no problem. The bit you are missing is it wont stop evictions, you said it yourself. Plenty of poor uneducated people will end up homeless because they will not pay their rent, however fair the tenancy is.
  13. Its already been explained to you, not just by me, that there are many people, for whatever reason, who are simply unable to make sensible decisions over their personal finances. Often these people end up in deeper poverty because of this. I am not advocating taking away all their spending choices, just making it easier for them to make the ones that avoid homelessness. You have no fucking clue.
  14. There will be absolutely private no landlords (what you want) if the tenancy agreement doesnt allow them to evict tenants for not paying. Fucking hell
  15. How does giving a tenant choice over whether they pay their rent or not ease poverty? Its still got to be fucking paid! I've already explained to you the benefit of paying the bills direct
  16. I agree with the first paragraph here, no problem with it at all. Its not part of the argument.
  17. You cant want to get rid of all private landlords and and at the same time want them to provide fairer tenancies, and not be able to evict them for not paying, thats the silly bit. Presumably you would want there to be 2 million new council houses (not necessarily a bad idea) to replace the private landlords. Following your logic on, you would want the rent benefits to be paid to them for them to then pay the local council. Anything else to you, would be demeaning. Likewise get rid of the demeaning 100% reduction in council tax bills, give them the money to pay it themselves.
  18. Brilliant, you think there should be no private landlords. Thats your answer to homelessness.
  19. Unless you are suggesting private landlords should provide free accommodation and benefit claimants get free utilities, there is a charge to be paid. That payment should be made when due.
  20. These people get paid eventually anyway, if they dont its because the people have been forced to move out. I would agree that people need to be protected from rogue landlords, but not all landlords are cunts or wealthy for that matter. You dont want people to lose the freedom to not pay even though not paying causes severe stress, illness, more poverty and homelessness.
