  1. It's a risk, but that's the market we're in. There isn't a standout candidate available.

Seems we're trying to find the new Mainz Klopp as we couldn't get the new Dortmund (Alonso) one.

I guess it comes down to what do you prioritise, a proven winner or a good fit for the club, because right now someone with both isn't out there.

  2. Valachi. He blew the lid off the whole thing.

Gravano was just one of life's survivors. Once he realised it was all bullshit he fucked everyone over, lived outside witness protection, then goes back to running dope, taking the fall for his kid. Gotti was foolish for flapping his gums too much.

  3. Poor Things

Certainly different. I preferred the early black-and-white part, very '20s German Expressionism. Stone's great, but if anything the more she spoke the more I kept thinking of Winslet's line in Extras - "You're guaranteed to get an Oscar if you play a mental." Thought Ruffalo stole the scenes the pair were in.

The whole atmosphere works well though, especially the score.

Only real quibble would be the ending. That seemed out of character for Bella.

If we’re giving everything, improving and winning, the connection will come.

Look at Benitez, he’s one of the coldest coaches we’ve ever had. I can’t see him ever being as friendly with the players as Klopp (Gerrard’s books confirm this), he never celebrated when we scored, barely ever smiled or showed a sense of humour… but, for a time at least, we all loved him.

    If we're lucky.

Despite some bad losses, I still feel like he passes the eye test, so to speak. Gets his team playing positively, and the stats tend to back that up.

If he grew a proper beard I reckon people would accept him.

Many economists believe it calls for them to be even more bold. Investing/Spending on infrastructure brings growth. The economic situation Labour inherited in 45 wasn't great either. Also if the purse strings are so tight why rule out a fairer more progressive tax system?

All fair points. Atlee was bold, but he also had a population that accepted the continuation of rationing while we restructured, and oversaw immigration to help rebuild Britain.

We've got a population that voted for Brexit and sees immigration as the enemy.

1997 Blairism was basically Maoism compared to what Labour are putting forward now though. Obviously we need the Tories out, etc, etc, but Rachel Reeves is no Gordon Brown.

That's a fair point. But, playing Devil's Advocate, do you think Brown would've opened the purse strings in the same way if he was inheriting this bin fire of a post-Brexit economic landscape?

Labour got pretty lucky in '97.

The Unmentionable Association did right fucking this part of London off if this is what they call a full breakfast.

4/10. Extra point for the decent selection of quality fruit juices.

  9. I like that line-up. Gakpo looked pretty sharp against Palace, and can help in midfield. Diaz helps cover the wing, and Salah is still Salah. No room for Nunez to start, and he'd probably work better from the bench right now.

We were too slow in midfield in the first game, and Endo was a big part of that, unfortunately. This three need to move the ball quicker, and be aware of when they're being closed down. Having Trent as an out-ball drifting between the CBs could be huge. If Atalanta commit to man-to-man again the long ball will be on from Trent.

    0-2 heartbreak incoming.
