Whilst I agree on Trent's unique skillset, I don't think it's outlandish to envisage a scenario where his inclusion is a potential headache for a new manager. He's not going to go back to just running the flank. It's like latter era Gerrard - you want him in your team, but things have to be shifted around to accommodate him. Some managers don't care for that.

Repped for teaching me something. I thought exactly the same. -

I hope our ex-players keep their mouths shut about Alonso coming here. -

Good point. It should be interesting to see how teams cope with the change though. Someone will no doubt come up with a great play that'll then be banned. -

Yeah, also removes the chance of a sneaky onside kick too. Can see why they've done it though. Concussions, and the dwindling numbers of returns. -

What's your issue with it? -
True. But I think there's a difference between being a bit shite, in a subjective manner, and some of the truly vomit-inducing design decisions we've seen in more recent years. That scuba kit, the printer test page 13/14 away, and finally this new badge. They're all a level above "shite" for me, Clive.
-
As far as shirts go, I think the 13/14 away was actually worse than the third. The latter at least had the badge, maker's logo, and sponsor all in one colour. We've had some truly shocking kits since binning Adidas.

Really hoping these alts link in with aRdja's slaves somehow. -
On my fifth Easter egg this year. A new record. Pretty sure diabetes is made up, like Covid.

There's no way Stronts hasn't got those names in a spreadsheet somewhere. -
Why are we talking about Haaland? Was there some news story or previous discussion in this thread I've missed that prompted Code's comment?

Who mentioned Chelsea and Haaland?

No. Didn't even know that was a thing. I'll see about downloading it though. Always wanted to know a bit more about nature. Would be nice to be able to identify birds and trees.

I've been unsuccessfully trying to normalise the Mr Burns greeting "A-hoy-hoy" for some years now. Said it to the pub landlord on Sunday and he blanked me.

I'm trying not to say "Okey dokey" quite so much, as I feel this slightly diminishes the badass jefe look I'm going for.

I could easily see him going. If Trent really wants to play as a midfielder then this is probably his moment to push on that, either here or elsewhere. If a new manager doesn't fancy that, with Bradley coming through, the parting could be quite smooth and amicable.

Chuck in Sandra Bullock and this is almost Speed 2.

Meeting oddball strangers. Took the dog for a walk today - an old boy played the call of a Dartford Warbler on his phone for me, then I had a brief chat with a woman who was happily sitting in a tree.

Killers of the Flower Moon Been waiting till I got a clear few hours to watch it in one sitting. Came away feeling it was beautifully shot and acted, but a bit, well, odd. The structure gives you no relatable protagonist, but also no mystery. That makes the first two hours a bit of a slog. The final third, with the FBI, seems like it might turn into more of an investigative procedural / courtroom drama, but any tension peters out quickly because there's nothing to uncover in the core plot. The other murders we witness early on are never mentioned either. It's earnest, and heartfelt, but as a period tale of oil greed it pales next to There Will Be Blood, and as a damming indictment of the treatment of Native Americans it seems strange to not make the wife the central figure. 6/10

Family Strife thread would be a hot topic. Actually, the more you think about it the more he'd fit right in here. #BringHimHome
