  1. It's a travesty that he doesn't have his own song yet.
  2. Probably the funniest episode thus far. "How do you grab people's attention? ... Mime artists!" The mime of riding a bicycle was perfect.
  3. "Starter for 10: Which 30 year old journeyman English goalkeeper has only completed one season of top flight football in his entire career and is being touted as a Liverpool transfer target by glue sniffers?"
  4. They really do look shite trying to work the ball around him. Every time Mata looks up he's stationary. He drifts towards the edge of the area, and the only time anyone creates genuine width and crosses the ball he's not even in the box. He's still got a good touch and can strike the ball cleanly, but he's got almost no movement. He reminds me of Balotelli, who, for comparison's sake on the quality of the French league, has scored six goals in five matches. A total only bettered by Ibra's seven in the same period.
  5. You've got to kinda admire the Italians, they don't miss a trick, and rarely get pulled up on it. How many players would think of scuffing the penalty spot?
  6. I'd gladly see Utd go out now. Last time I thought it was good that a struggling team had more matches in Europe Chelsea went and won it.
  7. That's really shitty, I feel for him. Reminds me a bit of when Jimmy Bullard finally seemed to be fit and then his other knee went. He just sat there staring at it, pointing that it was the other leg, almost in tears.
  8. Good film, but I found it a bit much. Probably the most restrained and unsettling Miike film.
  9. Can you imagine how much they'd rinse us for to sell in January?
  10. If you don't mind subtitles, then try some Japanese horror or early Guillermo Del Toro Ringu Dark Water Ju-On The Devil's Backbone Cronos Steer clear of Audition though.
  11. I liked Shearer as a player, but he needs firing from a BBC cannon now. Watching the intercrossing forward runs from our attackers, the sum total of his appraisal was that he reckons Klopp just sends them out and tells them to have fun. Similar to Owen asking Klopp if the team works on that attacking play in training, it underlined the deep issue with English football when it's tied to English players; it's still stuck in a "Have go son" mentality, where the onus is on the player's natural ability and being somehow unburdened from tactical shackles.
  12. Suspiria and Society are great shouts. I saw Society late one night on TV, being completely unaware of what it was about, and that ending was something else. I'm not much of a horror fan, but Dario Argento is arty enough that I can get into those films.
  13. Agreed. This feels like their stadium tour.
  14. Tell her to repeat the speech from Taken.
  15. Yep, I think he'll come good, but right now his kicking has me wanting to rip his mask off like in Scooby Doo, to reveal the Mig underneath. I've not seen the pair of them in the same room yet...
  16. He did really well yesterday. What I like in particular is how he's able to get close to a target man and block his space nice and early, either winning the ball or gaining a free kick. He's got a bit of nous.
  17. His distribution to whoever's sitting three rows back around the half way line is fantastic.
  18. To be fair, it wasn't really an advert, more a proof of concept trailer to get people acclimatised to the new hybrid form factor. Beyond the look of the device, I'd be taking everything else with a pinch of salt, including the instant switch from TV to handheld and the fidelity of any games shown. I just hope that the 3D Mario footage actually represents something coming soon, rather than the tech demo of Zelda shown on the Wii U all those years ago.
  19. They Live - 7/10 John Carpenter directing Rowdy Roddy Piper shooting aliens. What's not to like? It's the kind of film that you'd have to wonder if it'd get made today, as it plays out more like a man having a breakdown and going on a rampage. He shoots a fair few women too. It's pleasingly shite in a kitsch way, but gets added points for the greatest line in film history.
  20. I've always liked the idea of a hybrid, but price and original first party content will determine how well it does. If it's priced like a home console and only has Wii U titles as ports from Nintendo at launch then it could struggle.
  21. Hopefully we pop in a sell on clause.
