Klopp gambled prior to last season, when we didn't strengthen enough in the summer, and we still squeaked a top four place. I've the same misgivings as I had then, but considering we've finally got a top drawer CB, Ox is coming into form and Salah's on fire, I reckon we're in a better position, so I'm happy enough to roll with the squad as it is.
It's not ideal, and I still don't think we'll ever fully see the reasoning behind Coutinho being sold now, but there's a plan at work, even if it is based largely on Klopp's abilities to adapt with what he has. For all the talk of the owners, it's clearly his plan.
I get the fears, obviously there's a chance we could go on a slump due to lacking a creative spark from midfield, but long term, if it puts us in a better position to sign Coutinho's replacement and a quality keeper, then it's worth it in my view.
Having said all that, I still reckon we could either bring someone in or strike a key deal for the summer in this window.
