One of many things that annoys me that really shouldn't, but has been very apparent recently - whenever Jurgen snaps back at some snide question he's a prickly bully, but whenever Hodgson does it (which is most weeks) it's "ho ho good ol' Roy, tells it like it is, what a character!!"

Fowler will always be my favourite ever player, made me fall in love with the game when I was first getting into football around 1994/95. 30+ goals in 3 consecutive seasons by the time He was 22. But beyond His phenomenal finishing, I think His all round game and link-up play and creativity was underrated, especially after His injury when He'd lost a bit of pace and Owen had broken through and He dropped a bit deeper. Seem to remember Him linking up with Litmanen well, shame they didn't play more together.

I know this is a transfer thread on a football forum so people are naturally going to speculate or air their grievances or whatever, but I'm sure all this business is a lot more complex than any of us understand, and even if nothing ends up happening it doesn't necessarily mean that was the plan. Maybe they are all sat on their hands doing fuck all, maybe FSG have said you aren't getting another penny. Maybe they've spoken to Palace and said we'll give you £70m for Doucoure, for instance, and they've said fine but only if we can get our own no.1 target in before the window closes so don't leak anything so the team we're buying from don't know we've got £70m burning a hole. And then if they can't do their business, we don't do ours and everyone shouts on the internet.

That's not to say I don't think they've fucked up the Fabinho/Henderson business and should have got everything done sooner, and there seems to be an inflexibility at multiple levels of the club that hampers us.

At least that's over with now.

Cole was 7 and then Collymore was 8.5 in summer 1995. Then scored that goal against Sheffield Wednesday on his debut. One like that for Caicedo against Chelsea would do.
