It's pointless discussing managers, it's not the main problem. We need a proper football man in the boardroom, a dof or whatever. Let him decide the football we want to play and employ the managers to suit that. Zorc (dortmund), Overmars is the Ajax one, Monchi (sevilla) someone with a clue.

I can't help but think what Brendan most have thought after the Stoke match and the players that played that day. Did he believe that Sakho and Lucas gave up in that game and tried to get him the sack? I wonder if he felt betrayed by some of the players not started this season? Even if he had the ability to pull the performances back from the crapper, he was a dead man walking after the Stoke match, not just to the fans but to the players also. The club needed to purge even if it was unfair not to give him a chance, because the situation seems to have been toxic, something either proven or increased with the sacking of his coaches. Untenable is the right word here.

Goal aside he was pretty bad yesterday. He can hold the ball up, but isn't capable of a quick accurate pass. He is a middle table striker who can feed off scraps in the box and crosses (both goals scored came from balls out wide) Maybe that's what we are.

He couldn't control the ball. Frightening to be honest, he has some great players around him at national level. Looked way out on place with them.

So why haven't your club looked at him? Utd City and Arsenal all need strikers and none have looked at this guy. Looking at his assists he averages three a season. We have lost 11 goals from last season if you take in Borini, Sterling, Balotelli and Lampard. We lost 50 from the season before. If this lad scores a good return of 15 and assist 5 it leaves us well short. We needed more.

People do get that he has a release fee, and to claim a deal is done in theory means fuck all other than we have matched that fee with the club.

If we sack Brendan, a sporting director who can give the club an overarching tone is more important than the next manager, unless we hire a manager like fergie rather than a coach. Changing the youth system last season in favor of Brendan's view was a crime of total stupidity. Personally I would throw the sink at Rafa, ask him to reset the system he implemented that brought through Ibe, Flanagen and Sterling and allow him to pick the footballing staff in total. Set the structure of the club up for years. Results come second to that at then moment. If not that we should throw the sink at either Zorc or Monchi and allow them to sort the manager.

I think it's too easy to mistake a lack of effort with confusion amid the team. We really look like we lack direction on the pitch. Worse is that we look terrible with the ball more than without. Last season Suarez made up peoples minds on the pitch along with Gerrard from deep. This season we dont seem to have a coaching plan (did we have last season?) to play out, and lack the kind of players that naturely direct play.(Cou being the exception, but looking at the Hull game they just man marked him and never allowed him to move the ball onto his right foot) Rafa's team looked like that also in his last season, but at least we know he had the rug pulled from under him by purlow in the summer leaving him with an unbalanced squad. Brendan has all the players needed bar perhaps a striker like Suarez(there is only one in the world so good luck with that Brendan). We have a decent team, and player like Moreno and Markovic are better in teams with a purpose and direction from the coach. In fact I think Markovic has the ability to be a really top player under a Rafa or Klopp in a 4231.

Dempsey, Lambert, Benteke, Costa and Bony. All mobile replacements types for Suarez,? Eh no. These are the strikers that Brendan wanted, not mobile forwards that people are saying he wanted. Balotelli, Lambert, Markovic and Lallana all scored more with other managers. Even Lovern. People seem to forget that Brendan tried to play the same football as last year for three months without Suarez. What the fuck does that really say about him?

He has been using Pearse, Maddock and Bascome to put out the idea his job is safe, its all bullshit. He is worried, thats clear, as he should be. Klopp and Rafa would suit this club better that him simple. Forget all the shit and think on this, he believed after conceeding 50 goals last season which lost him the league, that we could score the same without Suarez using Lallana and Lambert, and could conceed less with Lovern than with Sakho. Honest question, do youn think that Brendan is a better manager for this club that Rafa? Klopp?

You would wonder why Sanchez and the like don't want to come here eh? Ask for a pay rise and the club will punish you by leaking it to the press. Clever eh?

My point is clearly that last season (with our own 70m pound player in the form of his life) wouldnt have been close to happening with European football to contend with. It's a lot easier to hound the other team all game when you are playing 15% less games or more.

It isnt just about the pl or europe, the aim of top teams is to compete in both. We havent even competed in the two european comps we were in. I would bet that if you took away european football from Arsenal and saw them go out of the domestic cups as early as we did last year you would see them do what we did last season if not better. If Rodgers cannot handle both then we dont have the timeframe to hope he discovers it.
