    MIA 'Born Free'

I thought it was even less specific, I thought it was a general anti-authoritarian and anti-prejudice. It could easily be the Kosovans or the Jews or any victims of genocide and ethnic cleansing.

embarrassed?! I said Dizzy Heights and Charn from Look and Read for crying out loud... Look and Read! There's no shame in what scared you when you were young and had a kids imagination.

    Steven Fletcher

"far" better... really? you think that? I would say that Fletcher is ahead of him in the sense that he is five years older and has five years of experience which Fleck lacks, he's also more physically developed. He might even have a better attitude. But technically, I don't think so, certainly not when it comes to ball carrying. I just think if we were to spend 5m on a player that has not really proven themselves at this level yet, then it should be one of the top talents in Britain rather than a 23 year old who's had a season leading the line and disappeared when up against settled defences. I doubt he'd be a better back up than Jovanovic or even N'Gog.

looks like Nick Cave. I had one mate who was scared shitless by Watership Down, couldn't even bear to hear Bright Eyes. Also, this gripped me when we did Look and Read at primary school, Charn was a freaky fella. Uz1pGlydYs0

I know what you're talking about, but I looked at a load of Stephen King stuff earlier and can't get beyond "The Tommyknockers" from your description.

Judge Doom however is nothing compared to this monstrosity. KHT-Tf4RSXo Read the comments, I saw the episode they were talking about and... even reading about it while listening to the theme has brought me out in a cold sweat. I remember watching it... and then running down the garden to my dad in tears, one of my earliest lucid memories.

I think I was about 4 when I saw it and when he turned into a toon it fucked me up.

Just a few weeks of nightmares is all. I still don't like the film, even if I do recognise it as a bit of a classic.

Not for £5m, maybe on a free. We could probably add Fleck to the Wilson deal for another £5m

    Jonjo Shelvey

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is following a long-term plan at the club and is frustrated with constant rumours about his future. The Spaniard has been heavily linked again with Juventus, who were reportedly sending a delegation to Merseyside this week to discuss a potential summer move. That seemed an unlikely occurrence with Liverpool facing Atletico Madrid in Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg trailing 1-0, and then hosting Chelsea on Sunday. The club have also announced the signing of 18-year-old Jonjo Shelvey from Charlton in a £1.7million deal. Having already signed QPR's Raheem Sterling, aged 15, earlier this season Benitez said he has a number of other young, British players lined up to sign in the near future. "I don't like [the rumours]," said the Spaniard ahead of the Atletico clash at Anfield. "I would like to see news in the press about trophies, or goals or fantastic performances about players but you cannot control everything. "My future is Atletico Madrid. We have to concentrate on this game and try to win because it is the best for the club. "But we have been working for years; I was trying to sign Gareth Barry before and Glen Johnson was the same idea - we were trying to bring in British players with passion. "Players who could feel what it means to be a Liverpool player. Shelvey is one of these and we have two or three names ready so we will try to do the best for the club. "We have this long-term plan in place and we will try to follow the plan."

    Jonjo Shelvey

I reckon you're reading too much into it, no doubt it came up at the press conference.

    Reserves and Academy

Yeah, I know but one thing he can do is finish, roll a dice and sometimes it comes up six. I'm just saying we don't have many options if the others are injured, anyway he's training with them, take from that what you will. Kuyt looks like he was having a full session so he should be fine.

    Reserves and Academy

LDV is training with the first team as cover in case Kuyt and N'Gog don't make the game tomorrow apparently. Obviously he'd be on the bench, but it'll be good for him to be involved. If we are piling on the pressure in the last 10and they are pushed back into their area, I'd bank on him to nab one.

Did you? I thought you were the one who brought all these players into the thread...bar Tom R's comment, but a negative Tom R post is like white noise.

    Jonjo Shelvey

Jonjo shelvey, was a hammer but he came to liverpool bang bang jonjo score us a goal and prove that you're a red. ZD5hz8EnyaE is my input.

    Stevie Irwin

I honestly have no idea what this is referring to.

It toughens kids up, they play against adults who will target them because they are from a big club. The likes of Amoo, Irwin, Palsson and Cooper all have great aspects of their game but if they were to go and play it would put into perspective what they need to work on. I think Spearing has shown that he has the talent to go further, I base my opinion on Darby more on his decent showing for us than his time at Swindon, I just hope it's toughening him up, I think he's no worse now than Carra was at his age. Eccleston's time has been a bit disappointing, but again it'll show him that looking good in the ressies is a long way from the first team and that he has a lot of work to do, he'll be back and hopefully spending a good amount of time with the first team in training, just watch, he'll cut a much more focussed figure on that field next year. basically I think these deals prove very little, but they help the player get their priorities in order and hopefully make very real to the individual just how much work they have to put in to prove themselves.

    Schmeichel Jnr

I honestly have no idea how good Martin is, I would expect Gulasci to be capable of playing in some cup games next year but we need three keepers good enough for the first team, and I can't really see any of our other options being one of them. All I am saying is that Kaspar would be a reliable backup, for little money as well.

    Valiant kid Jonjo's Kop calling

Midfield pairing of Jay and Jonjo would scare the shit out of me.

Even if this just means that a couple of our guys go there this year it'll be good for their development, which is a good thing.

    MIA 'Born Free'

ePn04MfMmVM a raw version of the song, which was manipulated for the video (seems like the song is promoting the short film more than the other way around). I like the song in it's original version, but the mix is a bit crap.

you didn't get a sense of what was coming? Actually to be fair if I'd never seen Peter Watkins' Punishment Park I probably wouldn't have realised where it was going. edit: completely agree regarding Galang, I really have to get into MIA more, I only really know the big songs. Even then I prefer the Diplo remix of Paper planes to the original... actually I prefer that African cover. iR4BnNOAe7g yeaaah that's the stuff.
