  1. Fergie left when he knew there was nothing left to squeeze out too. They are not daft. 4 of the 11 that started last night made their Liverpool league debut this season. Kelleher played 5 league games before this season. Nunez is here 20 months. Diaz is here just over 2 years. Elliott and Jones are 21 and 23 years old, respectively. Gakpo isn't here 18 months. Quansah is a child. FFS, where do these guys get off? Morons
  2. Klopp very rarely plays Mo, Elliott, and Mac Allister at the same time. We are just too small at set pieces.
  3. Aside from the 5-0 at the Emirates in October, and another 5-0 when they went down to 10 men v Burnley, their goal difference away from home is For 22, Against 12. They drew away to Brighton and Villa and usually only lose by one or two goals. We should win but it could be low scoring.
  4. On the Mo one, if a forward pushes the ball past a defender, continues his run and then "runs into Dunk's (the defender's) legs, it's a foul.
  5. Taylor and Brooks. A cuntfest
  6. And finished more three times. 99, 97 and 92
  7. I woke my wife when I burst out laughing at Dave comparing his modesty and humility to Jurgen Klopp. Never change man.
  8. I was thinking while listening, of the 14 players that played today, only 3 have won the league with us. I know we feel like we have been here before and players like Diaz were around in 21/22, when we did enough to win most leagues, and we have finished every season well since 2019, we are playing inexperienced sides at the moment. We really could do with the injured players back to have a little more experience on the pitch over the next 9 games
  9. Even if he goes to Madrid after next season, they have had 17 managers (including 5 interims) since Del Bosque was sacked in 2003. He wont be there long-term so it isn’t beyond the realms of possibility that he spends some time as manager here during his career, if he fancies it, the timing is right and he is what we need when he is available.
  10. I disagree. We were only ok in the 1st half v United in the cup. We dominated them in the 2nd half, until they threw the kitchen sink at it fot the final 5 minutes. It isn’t Klopp's fault that the players butchered numerous chances during that period. Extra time looked as if the tough schedule with lots unavailable just caught up with the players.
  11. We all have Villa and Spurs. We play Villa away and Spurs home. Arsenal and City play Spurs away and Villa home. They both have Brighton away, we have Everton away. We and Arsenal have Man United away. Arsenal have a derby v Chelsea. City have the easist run-in IMO but they have 2 tough ones v Real Madrid in the Champions League
  12. We constantly hear that Man City just up the gears in the title run-in and take control. This is very true but I think it gets forgotten how well Liverpool have finished seasons since 18/19. Obviously, there are a couple of funny seasons, where covid interrupted our run, or the title has been won early, but: We have accumulated 124 points in our final 10 games across the last five seasons. Manchester City have also accumulated 124 points across those 50 games. We have won 38, drawn 10 and lost just 2, to City and Arsenal actually (both in the title winning season, during the summer, after the covid resumption). City have won 40, drawn 4 and lost 6. The 6 they lost however, were meaningless really. They lost 3 in 20/21 when the league was all but wrapped up, lost 2 when they were miles behind us in 19/20 and lost the final game last season when it was over and they were preparing for two finals. This shows that City can drop points in the run-in, but usually, when they need results, they are excellent. We are also excellent when we need to be though. Across 50 games, we only lost twice, when it didn’t matter, and even last season, we only drew our final two games when 4th was gone. Arsenal - haha
  13. Kelleher Bradley Konate VVD Gomez Szoboszlai Endo Macca Salah Nunez Diaz Subs: Adrian Quansah Tsimikas McConnell Elliott Gravenberch Jones? Gakpo Danns
  14. No fear of that with De Zerbi, he has failed to win 35 of his 60 league games with Brighton.
  15. I have nothing against De Zerbi, except the stats and his hair. He took a side that came 9th the previous season, to 6th and now they are 8th and sliding. They got 13 points from the opening 6 games last season, before Potter left, and finished just 3 points ahead of 9th place Brentford, so last season De Zerbi wasn't all that either. If he was English, and the football wasn't so easy on the eye, he would be spoken about similar to David Moyes/Eddie Howe. I hope he goes to Bayern.
  16. I agree that Brighton are rebuilding after the loss of Caicedo and Mac Allister but they are getting worse during the rebuild. Brighton will always be rebuilding. That is what they are. If they are getting worse during the rebuild then is the manager worthy of praise?
  17. 5 points behind a bad Liverpool side. Under De Zerbi they got 49 points from 32 games last season and have 1.5 points per game this season. And his average ppg is reducing all the time as Brighton's form is regressing. He has averaged a 57 point season since he has been there. That gets an 8th place finish in the Premier League, on average. Moyes, Martinez, Nuno Holy Spirit, Sam Allardye etc have all gone managed 60 games with a similar ppg. How the fuck does De Zerbi deserve to be mentioned in the same bracket as League winning managers?
  18. The most important thing for me that a manager needs to do, at any job, is to improve results. If they are getting worse, it generally never turns back and ends in only one way. Brighton finished 9th in Potter's final season there and were 4th when he left for Chelsea. I'd be surprised if Brighton get better than 9th this year, given their form since September.
  19. We have dropped just 11 points (including the sham v Spurs) in 24 games against teams bar Arsenal or City. We lost* to Spurs and drew with Chelsea, Brighton, Luton and Man Utd. We have not dropped any points to those teams since mid-December. Arsenal have dropped 18 points in their 25 games that have not been v us or City. They lost to Newcastle, Villa, West Ham and Fulham and drew with Fulham, Spurs and Chelsea. City have dropped 14 points in their 25 games that have not been v us or City. They lost to Wolves and Villa and drew with Chelsea twice, Spurs and Palace. If that trend continues, we will drop points for the remainder of the season, Arsenal will drop 6.5 more points, City will drop another 5.25 points and we will drop 4.5 points for the rest of the season. One or both of them will also drop points on Sunday. If we continue our form against the rest for the next ten games, we win the league, in my opinion.
  20. Since they beat Manchester United in Mid-September, Brighton have played 12 away league games. They have won two (against Forest and Sheffield United) drawn three (against Everton, Palace and West Ham) and lost seven. Get them battered
  21. Since they beat Manchester United in Mid-September, Brighton have played 12 away league games. They have won two (against Forest and Sheffield United) drawn three (against Everton, Palace and West Ham) and lost seven. I know they have had injuries but they have just 27 points from their last 22 league games. Have opoositions found him and his tactics out? If they continue this run for the next 10 games they will finish in the bottom half of the table. That's where Potter had them. De Zerbi, and Brighton are "fortunate" that they had 5 wins in their opening 6 league games or he would be nowhere near any discussion about being our manager.
  22. You misunderstood me if you think I meant that the shoes are not that big. They are huge shoes to fill but if the new manager conducts himself well, shows that there is a plan and there is incremental progress, he will be given time. The (sane) supporters understand that we need to punch above our weight to win trophies, especially against the cheats. My reference to Klopp was that he had some seasons where we were not competitive for the league at the start, but were in 3 finals in the first three years and qualified for the CL in year two and three while not spending very much and playing exciting football, while incrementally improving. 20/21 can be put solely down to the CB absentees. We were top after Christmas when Matip joined Gomez and Van Dijk in the treatment room, lost 6 games in a row at home (we have lost only one other league game at home since April 2017) and won 26 points in our final ten games when Klopp fixed the issue. The only "bad" season we had was last year but that is an anomaly given the consistency in all competitions in 21/22 and 23/24. My point was that the new manager does not need to be a Klopp personality, he does not need to immediately win trophies, but he needs to carry the weight of the position well, play good football, show that there is a plan and be competitive. If he does that, he will be given time, especially by the matchgoing fan. However, he will need a body of work to be safe from a bad season. Klopp's results since he got here could only have resulted in being sacked from 3/4 clubs on the planet and that's because they are supported by a load of entitled twats.
  23. Not a go at you, as De Zerbi is one of the front runners but how the fuck is De Zerbi regarded as elite?
