  1. Bet he is still in charge next season , owners want a yes man nobody to challenge them over transfers wages ect ect.Even if he was to go be another nobody put in charge ,face it we are massive worldwide club run like a conference club no disrespect to conference teams

  2. I'm not being funny but gid knows how this summer's transfer window will pan out,u think we are all going to be disappointed .Big in name small in ambition there were times we use to break transfer records now with all this penny pintching fsg have turned us in to a bit of a small time club. Mind you if you have mediocre in charge of thi hs what do you expect

  3. Exactly. We're in the top dozen clubs in the world in terms of support, wealth, turnover, wages , history....A sleeping giant who should be attractive to nearly every manager out there.

I'd go along with that but I would say we have a bit of a case with the owners ,they want to shop and run us say like poundland and I'd say we as fans want to be at least shopping at marks and sparks.Fair enough spend what you earn but every now and again you need to broaden your horizons , get top notch staff in for a world wide organization, would Barclays bank head hunt Ian ayre think not

  4. There are some daft things being levelled at Rodgers, I couldn't care less about his private life, his teeth, or whether or not he attends the X Factor, we played great - but flawed - football last season.

I said on here back then that if we didn't win the league last year we wouldn't win it for another ten, and I stand by that, what we achieved was a footballing miracle but it was still achieved in a way that exposed all the same flaws we have now. We still couldn't close a game down, we still couldn't defend, the notion of 'you score three and we'll score 4' can only be kept up in the short term, it's too exhausting it just isn't a blueprint for long term success.

I also don't think people want success yesterday. I'd be happy to see us finish fifth this year and fourth next year if I could see a squad taking shape or players developing, but I don't, I just see the constant throwing of good money after bad, exuse making, and constantly changing formations and personnel, and all after a massive - massive - outlay. That doesn't bode well in anyone's footballing book.

Good post sums it up really, the club is a world wide organization run like a corner shop

  5. I remember that game very well. This was the game where Anelka was sensational and too think Ged signed Diouf instead. One of the biggest own goals ever!

Been quite a few this yr ,probably the worst transfers in our history ,never been so disappointed

  6. Wouldn't blink an eye if we sold any player in our squad not named Sturridge or Sterling.

He,l be nxt away sterling,do you know what ,I don't think I've ever felt so diss interested in what happens to us ,must be off what happened last season how can you fuck a team up so badly in a short space of time ,we are a piss takers dream

  7. I still think these things are fixable....but name me one club that built itself on a completely wide open, attacking style of play and actively competed, every year, for their domestic title and the CL, while giving up goals in almost every game. I can't think of any. If you can name me a squad like that, then show me the year they decided to go into games playing a single striker and carrying ZERO strikers on the bench.

Every single club out there that is at a level we should be aiming to build towards, has one of the top 10-20 goalkeepers in the world and at least one or two world class defenders. It's not just about "building from the back" or playing conservative football.....it's about at least being able to control a game when plan A isn't working and generally having a balanced team.

The biggest indictment is the fact that most of us can't even name a clear first 11, or their strongest formation.

    So where do we go?

If you're one of the ones who thinks everything will be ok if we just wait it out - I think you're delusional, but I admire the confidence, really.

If BR stays, I hope there are serious changes to the management structure. Introduce a DOF, a defensive coach, overhaul the transfer committee, anything that will concretely address his weaknesses. If I were him and FSG offered me that instead of being fired, I'd take it in a heartbeat (surely even he has to realize he needs help and if things stay the same he'll be out by summer).

If he's replaced, I think we're in for another "re-building" phase....As much as I've lost confidence in Rodgers, I don't think more change is good for the club right now. This could be an incredibly stupid suggestion, but if BR goes, why not give Pascoe a shot. It might be a fresh perspective without having to completely throw away the side (which is what I think would happen if Rafa or Klopp or any other big name came in).

If you read all that, that was me saying I don't have a clue where to go from here

    Pascoe ehhhhhhhhhhh

  8. It's similar in ways like we lost a key player in the summer and had our star striker injured for most of the season.

Sacking rafa for one bad season was a massive mistake and we suffered the consequences for a few years after that, our fans should have learnt from that to be patient and there should be no question about Rodgers being our manager at the start of next season.

I'd say the difference in that is Benitez hasn't just blown all that cash to make us worse, mind I'm not saying sack him but questions need to be asked about the players brought in

  9. I dont get the manquillo deal at all. Maybe he is planning on using flanagan at lb with enrique and manquillo and johnson rb. We already have 3 rb's for fuck sake. Flanagan first them johnson then kelly. We need a left back and a striker.

As it stands we have a stronger bench but a weaker starting 11. 100 million spent and all. Fuckin hell

Think your right about been weaker,I'm worried and anyone who thinks otherwise is in denial, because if sturrige isn't playing who is going to be the match winner

  10. Anyone reading this thread would think Remy was a bona fide world class talent the way some of you lot are going on about him.

The way I look at it was a low fee for a decent player that would give us options it,we never usually get deals like this obe

  11. It's not looking overly promising, is it?

    - Lost our main striker, main source of creativity around the box, main source of goals? Check!

    - Failed to get an adequate replacement? Check!

    - Kept the thin midfield? Check!

    - Failed to improve on both fullbacks? Check!

    - Shopping in Southhampton! Check!

    - Failed to sell any of our dross? Check!

    - Playing shit football in the friendlies? Check!

    - Overpaying for British players! Check!

    - Losing out on class players to other clubs? Possible check, depending on how interested we were in Sanchez.

On the plus side, we have a lot of time to fix some of those, but it's a very long list, isn't it?

I'm gutted one of the only times we look like we are getting a bargain and this happens, or and then we get offered good money an average player like borini and that looks like it's a no go happy fucking days ,why us
