Well I suppose if they deserve credit if we were to win things then they deserve criticism for when we dont. Which is going on a few years now. Mind you I'll happily credit them for getting Klopp in. Its obviously put the club on a good footing and we saw that with CL qualification. They could have went with another Rodgers type appointment but didn't. All that being said they simply have to get better at ensuring we do better with football related matters. Probably above all else player recruitment. By whatever means they do it I dont care but just dont want to hear excuses year after year.

Barca seem a bit unstable too with their boardroom/upper management. Always has a negative effect in terms of the overall running of the club which in trun leads to issues on the field be it contract negotiations or player recruitment etc...

Surely some of the issues with transfers though just boils down to basics i.e. They haven't wanted to pay up For example Salah a few years ago. There plenty other examples over the past 4 or 5 years.

With FSG. Thing is the people who defend them always want to shift the narrative onto this argument that people are claiming they are parasites bleeding the club dry. To be fair some are. But a lot of people are just bemoaning their mistakes which have been prevalent ever since they took over. They've been fantastic on a commercial level but on a football level they've been sub par. Thats a fact as we have not been any way shape or form succesful. This often boils down to bad decisions and an unwillingness to go the extra mile in terms of spending. Klopp has been a good decision and it seems possible they've begun to accept they need to spend a bit more it they want to win stuff. But the jury is still out to a degree. Basically only time well tell over the next year or two. But surely there will come point where people will have to accept it isn't working if say 3 years from now we've still won fuck all.

Yeah we dont exactly have a good track record in this regard. Never mind the fact Lemar will probably have a few teams going in for him and Southampton wouldn't piss on us if we were on fire at this point so id be amazed if they sold us VVD.

Voted 5th purely as I dont expect us to have any luck injury wise and our defence just isnt good enough. If we get lucky injury wise and manage the winter period better could definitely see us finishing anywhere from 2nd to 4th but ultimately theres no way that defence is part of a title winning team.

All good pieces. Dan is spot on about the transfers though. Our failures are a pattern now and im sick to death of hearing people say "But we clearly tried to spend big" coupled with "its been a tough window for every club". Just not buying it when you see the likes of the mancs getting good deals done early and easily. City too got a plethora of good deals done early. If you are prepared to pay what it takes and dont fuck up the deals you will get the players.

Its a fair point that people keep bringing up. We should avoid settling for lesser players. But it doesn't change the reality that we are short numbers at CB and one of our starting CBs is the epitomy of average. I think there are times when you just have to weigh up the risks and make a call. In this I genuinely think Klopp has made a big mistake that will be shown as the season goes on.(IF its true that he was the one that made the VVD or nobody call)

Does anybody whos seeing the glass half full really genuinely think the centre back situation is ok. Waiting for your top targets is all well and good. But an injury to Matip and we are in trouble. Never mind Lovren being the definition of average and just not good enough. I just cannot see any positive in that situation.

Largely underwhelming and lack of investment will come back to haunt us unless we get very lucky injury wise. Keita for next season is great but hope we'll be in a position to give him CL football. Gonna be a slog.

Ive been super critical of FSG all summer and still think the window has been largely underwhelming and they never had any intention of spending the sums mooted. But at least weve held onto Phil. If he was to go without a replacement then we may aswell give up as its always one step forward two steps back.

Good call. To be fair I remember reading it and thinking I liked the idea. But the fundamental problem still remains were short on numbers and a little short on quality for this season. Although if we bagged vvd id be delighted at this point.
