  1. Definately. There are different rules inside and outside the penalty area. And inside the area the rules are not even remotely the same for attackers and defenders. If a defender falls over it’s a free kick, no matter the reason. That said this actually applies for all team, and I think everyone simply accept it more or less. The fact that there are different rules for different teams and the rules keep changing from case to case is far more difficult to accept. But that’s a different discussion.
  2. Excellent CB, not many better in this league. His long range passing however is still not very good imo. It’s not bad either, it’s probably what you’d expect from a CB. He’s not even remotely close to Van Dijk in that department. Van Dijks passes travel at twice the speed, which means they’re far more difficult for the opponent to get to, and they’re more accurate as well.
  3. It was a great save. But not as good as the one from Dudek. I still dont like watching that one, as every time I see it I’m sure Shevchenko is gonna score
  4. He’s the perfect squad player. Has shown this week that he can definately do a job at DM as well. He’s mobile, pretty strong in the 50/50s and quite good on the ball in tight spaces. Doesnt give it away easily, which is vital in that position. He’ll never be a Pirlo of course, especially his long range passing is quite weak, but all in all surprised how good he has looked in there.
  5. What a win. What a team, what spirit and belief! Never our best match quality wise, which is exactly what we have to expect with all the injuries we’re having this season. Three wins in a week with the situation we’re in is simply a massive achievement. Thought Van Dijk was very good today, he’s extremely important to this team right now. Konate also decent, as was Bradley and Elliott. Thought Diaz was decent, for long spells he was a one man attack. Gakpo and Robertson disappointing, as was Endo, which made too many mistakes on the ball today. Gomez was better than expected in the DM role, but his massive howler late in the game nearly cost us. You simply can not do that. Nunez brought quality, from the moment he came on we had much more movement and threat in behind them. And of course a superb goal to win us the game. We need him to stay fit! Our best player for me was Mac Allister. So calm and composed om the ball, excellent in tight situations, and strong as a bull in the 50/50s. The way he outmuscled the opponent for the assist was trademark Mac Allister. He does that all the time, and gets too little credit for it. Simply a top class all round midfielder.
  6. NNNNNNUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Jesus wept that was shocking from Gomez. Doing his best to hand Forest the win.
  8. Good substitutions, Robertson has been pretty poor, and Clark hasnt looked fully up to standard.
  9. Well done Gomez to win it back there after Gakpo and Elliott give it away with some aimlessly play.
  10. Doesnt matter if we kick off or the opposition, first 60 seconds of a half always seem to happen around our box.
  11. Pretty weak half from us that, but not very surprising considering all the injuries. Robertson and Gakpo have been disappointing, and Clark isn’t quite ready to start at this level yet. Thought Diaz was more or less our only threat, but far too little going on around him when he’s on the ball. Same problem as we haf first half against Luton, they all want the ball to feet, and we have little or no threat in behind them.
  12. He got a hamstring injury in the draw away at City. Then returned after a few weeks, was ill for a short spell, and then was pulled out of the Brentford match with a hamstring injury. Recurring according the Athletic, «fresh hamstring injury» according other sources.
  13. Same with Alisson wasn’t it? Bringing players back from injury and having the same injury reoccur should be a very rare thing if you know what you’re doing. We clearly have too many of those.
  14. I’m a massive fan of Hansen, but he comes second behind Van Dijk on the list of our best CBs ever. Van Dijk was probably the best player in the world a few years ago, and is probably still the best CB.
  15. Thought he looked lively and skillful on his debut. And his pass to put Gakpo through a few minutes after he scored was perfectly timed and weighted, a moment of class! Far too early to tell obviously, but looked promising.
  16. Think you’re spot on here. His first will probably get all the attention, but the way he anticipated the second one to be in the right place was the sign of a proper goalscorer.
  17. Bloody hell, I enjoyed that! Very lucky not to concede of course, but still so many positives to take from that match! Danns looks a proper goalscorer, and Koumas to me looked a very lively and skillful player, also apart from the goal. Extremely happy that we’ve got a quality second choice keeper, he’s been important the last week! Thought Gomez did very well at DM, if we really need it he can do a job in there as well in the PL I reckon. The ultimate squad player! Quansah very good again, like someone said above how calm and composed is he on the ball! Most important job for Klopp now will be to keep the youngsters feet on the ground I guess. Hopefully a few of the regulars back for Forest, we’ll need it for the upcoming weeks.
  18. Gomez playing really well in midfield. Edit: wrong thread.
