One of my neighbours was the reserve goalie and played a couple of games in the comp that year. I take him for a beer every now and then and he has some great stories about his debut in front of the Kop, Shankly coming in their dressing room at half time and blasting them, and the greatest player he ever played against, Roger Hunt. Some even better ones about Jimmy Hill when he went to Coventry. Great guy.

I’m taking my 12 year old daughter for her first game today. She’s a bad crank most of the time lately and I’m regretting it already. My son, who is also coming, keeps giving me the “I told you so” look. Let’s hope the Reds get it done for my sake.

Arrived home to find my wife has broken my electric moka pot (my separate bean grinder is in tact). I can easily replace but @Remmie and others, tempted by a bean to cup. Any Sage (pardon the coffee pun) advice appreciated before pulling the trigger. Thank you.

Off topic but I watched Dana’s new Powerslap show recently. I burst out laughing about 10 times, the girl with the Mohawk in particular. I think I might be in for the long haul on this one.

Nice one. I can still remember the first time I saw in Middlesbrough Town Hall crypt supporting Dodgy back in 94/95. They’d been together about 6 weeks and were really great, History sounded like nothing I’d ever heard before. I always love a bit of Beat Mama too, that’s my guilty pleasure. I’ve been getting into Willow She Weeps lately, that’s decent.
