  1. Really? It absolutely did.....it changed the match completely. I also can't believe the amount of LFC fans actually supporting an England team, who in the main seem a bunch of gobshites & hypocrites. Bazbollocks...
  2. I think that is England's issue; they over think everything....trying to be far too clever for their own good. That never tends to work in any sport.....keep it simple.
  3. Both the Milan and Juventus shirts are atrocious; what's wrong with proper stripes.....I've still got 3-4 90s Milan shirts...absolute classics.
  4. I'm sure we'll hear the "there's very little value in the January transfer window....."
  5. Can't help but feel the PL/ FA have tried a bit of oneupmanship in being the first to announce postponements; and got it wrong. Similarly, so have BHB in regards to horse racing.... All the travel plans, hotels booked, etc You can bet people will struggle to get refunds.......
  6. Agree with that. Did Ron Saunders take pleasure when they won the League? And then he fell out with the board...... As a kid, I thought that the Ipswich Ipswich team were better, but were in every competition deep into the season, and ran out of legs.
  7. Last week's Freiburg v Dortmund was live on YouTube. No studio show either. All a bit 'budget'. And they haven't bothered with Bundesliga 2 which is normally super competitive.
  8. Agree with this; where is the all action No 8 who scored/assisted, and was prone to yellows, and the odd red card? I know he's playing a different role, but he's like an imposter. There's been the odd flash of quality, but he's far too inconsistent - and too often injured. There is a player there somewhere....but we're not seeing it enough. I wouldn't be disappointed of he went.
  9. And why he couldn't continue playing for Inter; Italian sport forbids the use of them. There have been a few other sports persons who've either moved from Italy, or retired.
  10. Sutton, Savage, etc all the same. Talking endless bollocks... There was a time when 5 Live was a decent listen, and you could respect their analysts, even if you'd occasionally disagree with them. Most of them now are clueless....They should be leaving that to Talksport..
  11. New season, same old story.....teams not willing to have a go v City....
  12. It looked like a poor attitude, and we were surprisingly lethargic. After last season's near miss, many posters said we have to hit the ground running, and win as many games as possible - and be ahead of City by the World Cup. Two points already gone, isn't the best start, and you imagine City will take them apart. However it's one game - lets see where we are after another 5 or 6 games.
  13. Dejan Savicevic - Il Genio. As talented and technically skilled as all the greats; however, he was ill disciplined, and notoriously lazy - which is why Capello didn't trust him. On his good days, he was nigh on unplayable... https://dispensablesoccer.com/dejan-savicevic/
  14. Saw that piece on the Guardian website the other day; it was a hard read...he's really been through it - and one hopes he's finally sorted. Hats off to his family for their support. While out cycling I've seen him plenty of times walking his dogs...
  15. Coldplay; liked by people who aren't really into music, but think it's trendy to do so. They're just a poor man's Radiohead, with far less talent. The same could be said about Ed Sheeran, Adele....and going back probably Dido (which is possibly slightly harsh).
  16. Why can't they ever have the same first half, and second half fixtures, like a lot of other countries do?
  17. I don't know how people can't see this; both games are virtually the same. An early lead, failure to get a 2nd - and then the opposition get into the game, England retreat to their own half - and can't get anybody on the ball... Southgate just stands there looking confused, unable to do anything.....England eventually lose.
  18. I feel (possibly unfairly) that we were a clinical striker away from winning the lot. There are far too many games that we're dominating, but the opposition are still in the game; we rarely put teams to the sword, despite the chances. Even in 3 Cup Finals, the chances have been there - not one put away. In the tight games v good opposition, you have to take your chances when they come. These games are all about fine margins...... We've had a great run, but at the moment it feels a bit deflating; so close to the impossible.....
  19. As I feared we looked tired, both mentally & physical; the signs weren't great in the last few games, but we've somehow pulled results out. However, when it was needed, they had nothing left...... And to be honest, 0 goals in three finals isn't great - which suggests there is an issue.
  20. Great write up; I'm not disappointed, sad or heartbroken. Just angry, and seriously fed up......92 points, following on from 97 three years ago, and not enough to win the title. What's that all about? I'm not even looking at where we dropped points; we got 92, and since January have only dropped points twice. We're not competing in an equal competition. Villa did the hard part, and then like too many other teams v City, concede a goal, and then fall to pieces....just like Wolves & Newcastle did recently. And it won't be any different next season, which is why we have to hit the ground running, and ideally be leading by Oct/Nov.
  21. Yeah, I think it should be brought back..... Growing up, all 3 competitions knock out rounds were played on the same days. Then in the 90s, Tuesday was the UEFA Cup, Wednesday the Champions League, and finally Thursday was the Cup Winners' Cup.
  22. That Sheffield Weds game at home in April 1993; 0-1 down into injury time....somehow conjure up 2 goals to win.....that's the start of it, and when you knew they were never beaten...as the refs would almost play until they scored.
  23. I know it's probably 'small time' but I've had to mute anything to do with City, Etihaad & their bald coach on Twitter as I can't bear to see anything about them. Another title 'won' at our expense.
  24. Agree - too many teams do it. Recently, both Newcastle & Wolves have given up, and shipped 5 goals against them. There's a 10 goal swing in 2 games. That's what we're up against. Why's it going to be any different next season, no matter how good we are.
  25. When you get over 90 points, and still don't win the title you just feel cheated...... Oil funded frauds
