  1. Just like the " under promise and overachieve" quote when they first bought us. Ultimately, the buck stops with them as to where the club is. One minute we need competition in all areas according to the Manager and now we have Brad Jones still as back up to a number 1 keeper. Even if Reina is 1% better that Mignolet, I would rather have Reina as that 1% could win you games and take you higher in the table - Look at Van Persie for this ( yes I know we weren't in a position to bid, but if we were, these owners would have said no) As for the H & G comparison - not lunacy at all - If they would have had the money they would have been doing the exact same things that FSG are now doing. They are an investment group who invest, make the balance sheet better and sell for a profit. Making the balance sheet better by being successful on the pitch is only one way of doing it and not the way they are interested in.
  2. But remember " we have the resources to compete with anyone" Doesn't mean we will They are keeping the club running until it is at its optimum value to sell. H & G would also have done this if they had any money, but they didn't have a bean so they tried to strip it. FSG = H & G with a bit of money and better PR
  3. Letting our best players go = forever in transition and going nowhere
  4. You are entitled to your opinion. Lets see who is right at the end of next season
  5. Get used to 7th, 8th, 9th folks as we are going nowhere with FSG
  6. I'd take a billionaire owner over FSG any day. They are keeping the club ticking along until they can sell for a profit
  7. Rodgers is a puppet. FSG only interested in the bottom line cost - they are not arsed about winning trophies. We will not progress with them - just my opinion
  8. They will be pissed off that they missed out on Moyes
  9. Surely he can talk about working with him this season as he is not for sale - why add the " if something drastic happens " Why do we keep changing our stance ?
  10. So we have now gone from: He is not for sale - to We don't want to sell him -to Unless something drastic happens
  11. I really don't have a problem with him leaving. He is better than upper mid table Premier League club - he is easily in the top 5 players in the world. Like almost everyone else, I want him to stay as he is a hell of a player and I wont call him a cunt etc, however, there is a way of leaving that doesn't leave a bad taste in the mouth. Yes, there are always some who will kick off however it is managed and we will have to accept that. I have no problem with him saying " a club like LFc should be in CL and fighting for honours" He is right, we should be. The problem I have is the " the club know what I want and I have 3 possible options" Sorry, but he can say he wants CL football as much has he wants, that's his perogative - but he should be saying he only has 1 option ( LFC ) unless we accept a bid for him
  12. If he didn't want to leave, it could all be fixed with an LFCtv exclusive interview when he lands in Austrailia saying that it is all bollocks. Don't think that will happen though
  13. Whilst the press are absolute cunts. It's clear that they are being fed off the record "don't quote me" info to weaken LFC's position. Clubs will do this too of course, when it suits. We are also seeing more clubs working the Madrid way and getting their senior players - Wilshire, ivanovic etc to say how excited they would be if a certain player signed for them
  14. The difference could by that his home media love him and will portray any story as "Uruguayan sporting hero wants to better himself" whereas the British press hate him and us so will report that " cheating/racist player wants out of crisis club Liverpool". Basically the same story but with a different slant. My opinion is that he doesn't have any intention of returning to LFC and whilst he initially wanted to spare the fans with " it's the press's fault" he will, if he needs to go to another English club
  15. I agree with all you are saying but agents do all the press shit to back the selling club into a corner and to force them to sell. They will also use the " he has now burned his bridges with a large section of players/club/fans to force a move if they have to
  16. I agree that asking the solicitor would be easier, but that's not what the agent wants. The Agent wants this played out in the press to weaken LFC's position, get the fanbase split, flush out any other parties and bring the price down.
  17. Ayre has spoken Liverpool MD confirms that Arsenal have made a bid for the Reds' Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez. Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre has confirmed that the club did indeed reject a transfer bid from Arsenal for Luis Suarez - and that the striker was keen to hear more about their offer. Ayre began by reiterating that the Reds had no desire to sell their star asset, and that so long as he worked hard for Liverpool he would remain popular with the Kop faithful. "I don’t think anyone will be against him at this point," Ayre told Bloomberg journalist Tariq Panja. "He only needs to do what he did last season and everyone will feel he's in the right place and he should carry on getting the support that he deserves and gets from Liverpool. "Right now we'd love to see Luis put on a Liverpool shirt for this season and beyond and we hope that once he gets back things will settle down," Further quotes attributed to Ayre on Panja's Twitter account were more revealing for both Liverpool and Arsenal fans on the Uruguayan's future. "I've heard him say it would great to have an opportunity to play for Arsenal and likewise Real Madrid," continued Ayre. "But he certainly hasn't called me up and said he wants to leave. "We had an offer which is fairly public from Arsenal. "We said no to that offer, and as far as we're concerned he turns up for training when he's due back. And we'll move forward on that basis. "We get offers for lots of our players at different times. Unless we get to a situation where that player absolutely doesn't want to be here and we don't want him to be here then that's a different kettle of fish." Times journalist Tony Barrett quickly weighed in to say that Arsenal had not yet made a second bid - despite reports to the contrary.
  18. You are right, Suarez is forcing the move, Torres before him etc. But ask yourself as to why we seem to be continually in this position?? FSG have spent little of their OWN money and without this we will not be back amongst the best.
  19. Its business to FSG. They don't give a fuck about the football side. We have been losing our better players for years cos we haven't been constantly competitive in the league, it will go on as long as we are not at least top 4
  20. We should not even contemplate selling to another English club. We are too far behind Arsenal & Chelsea as it is without giving them our best player. Whilst Chamberlain/Walcott are good players, Suarez turns it on every game and not just 1 in 3. Sell him if we have to, but only abroad. If Torres was worth 50, Suarez is worth more. All those who believe LFC hold all the cards are deluded, players usually get their move, the only thing we can do is chooses who to sell him to. If LFC were in complete control of this, then why have we gone from " he is not for sale" to " we don't want to sell him" FSG are not interested in the next level, if we get there, great, if not they make enough money as it is and will eventually sell for a profit anyway. As long as they have 1 player that they can aggressively market ( coutinho at present ) then that is good enough for them.
  21. All smoke and mirrors - FSG do not want to spend the money
  22. Not confused at all, although I like you optimism. I'm sure Suarez would find it much easier to deal with the distraction of the press in we were in the CL or challenging for honours. Officially, we hold all the cards as he is 12 months into a contract, but in reality, unless you have the finances to " let him rot in the reserves " or let him disappear back home ala Tevez, the player usually gets their way in the end.
  23. this will always happen until we are in a position to challenge again. I'd love him to stay - but he is saying thing on a near daily basis now - get as much as we can, replace him( hard I know ) and move on.
