  1. I know it's only a small sample size but in the games we've played without Trent and Salah this season we look more balanced. If we could get £200 million plus for both of them, I could see us moving them both on.
  2. Nike have agreed a deal with Germany to manufacture their kits after 70 years of Adidas and it's being treated as an act of high treason over there!
  3. In terms of players out it's looking like Definite Adrian Thaigo Matip Potentially due to contract situation Trent Salah VVD Potentially due to playing time Kelleher I don't think anybody else is likely to leave? We can't let all three of Trent, Salah and VVD go this summer. I think VVD is the most likely to sign a new contract, then Trent, then Salah. I'd really like Kelleher to stay also.
  4. Keir Starmer has shockingly taken the same position also.
  5. 7 points will be more than enough though. The bottom four are all woeful, and Luton have a lot of injuries to their first choice players. Sheffield United are gone, then it's two from Burnley, Forest and Luton.
  6. Yeah I'd be the same. I am looking forward to the Tories hopefully, finally being eviscerated. I just worry that things could start to unravel very quickly for a Labour government, especially if little changes.
  7. The funny thing is, Owen Jones quitting Labour is exactly the sort of thing that will make people in the centre much more likely to vote Labour.
  8. I get that, but it's a very risky calculation. They may find that much of the Labour vote also decides to stay at home if its a choice between coke or diet coke.
  9. This is my biggest issue. He's got some serious political capital but he's not prepared to spend it. Apparently he always tells his team to act like we're five points behind in the polls, but that only gets you so far. The polls are at a point now where the Tories are down to around 20%. They won't go any lower than that because they have a core support of headbangers that will always vote tory, yet Starmer is now seemingly trying to win over people that will never ever vote Labour.
  10. Any takers? Windsor: 12ft statues of late Queen and Philip for sale - BBC News A pair of 12ft-tall statues of the late Queen and Prince Philip's heads have been put on Facebook marketplace. On sale in Windsor but originally bought from shopping channel QVC, the statues were created to mark the Diamond Jubilee back in 2012. Ben Inglis, who is selling the statues on behalf of his grandfather, said they were "a bit of fun". He is hoping to get £2,000 for the pair.
  11. I don't see him leaving Newcastle thankfully!
  12. Richard Hughes confirmed as Sporting director. Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards speak out after Liverpool confirm new sporting director - Liverpool Echo I'm glad we are finally getting this sorted out. Just the easy job of sorting a new manager now!
  13. I wonder if we'll give Van den Berg a chance here next season? He will count as a home grown player too. If not then it feels like we should be able to sell him for a decent amount of money.
  14. Liverpool centre-back establishing himself in 'top five defenders in Europe' while on loan - Liverpool Echo On-loan Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg is charting among some of the best central defenders in the top five leagues in Europe, according to a report. Figures collated by Comparisonator show that the 22-year-old is only bettered by William Saliba (Arsenal), Nico Schotterbeck (Borussia Dortmund), Kim Min-Jae (Bayern Munich) and Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk, this season. The comparison website for player performance used its AI index to find the best centre-backs via their averages. Van den Berg has made just four appearances for the Reds as he has spent his formative years away from Anfield. The Dutchman has enjoyed loan spells in the English Championship with Preston North End, as well as two stints in Germany with Schalke 04 and now with FSV Mainz. The 22-year-old has been one of the standout performers, shining for Mainz during a difficult season for one of Jurgen Klopp's former clubs. He has won 59.1% of his tackles this season in 27 appearances,, scoring twice. Mainz boss Bo Henriksen has already hailed the defender this season and has set out his stall that Van den Berg will improve. He said: “He is a leader and the boss in the middle. He’s getting better and better." Van den Berg's time in the Bundesliga has been a learning curve after suffering a long-term injury which restricted him to just nine games for Schalke. His time with Mainz has been another challenging experience but one that has seemingly catapulted him among some of the leading centre-backs in Europe's top five leagues, in his position. Upon his return to Merseyside in the summer, he will have two years remaining on his contract at Anfield. With Joel Matip's long-term knee injury and recurring problems for Ibrahima Konate, there has been chances to deputise alongside Van Dijk in the Liverpool back four, which has seen Jarell Quansah come to the fore.
  15. Carlo Ancelotti extended his contract until 2026, so it could be that Real plan to wait for Alonso until then. From Alonso's point of view, he may not want to leave immediately so early in his managerial career. He may want to have a crack at the Champions League with Bayer next season.
  16. Nobody is disputing that he's a good player but it's ok to say that he had a bad game from time to time.
  17. Would be textbook Everton for them to request a stadium like the Spurs ground but end up building the old version rather than the new one.
  18. Leicester are facing a points deduction next season which is good news for Everton assuming Leicester go up and assuming that Everton haven't gone under by then.
  19. Guarantee there's at least one post on GOT blaming him for this!
  20. Why is it a concern? It's really not that big a change in the scheme of things. All it means is that those bookmakers will have a liability on somebody else, so they want people to bet on Alonso with them to help balance the book. Yes they charge 5% on profit. It's just easier to track the odds on those sites though so you can see if something is coming in or drifting out. Generally these sorts of markets are always a bit chaotic anyway as you get people regularly putting 2 and 2 together and making 5.
  21. Uk to leave the EU was 6/1 on the night of the vote!
