  1. Same. My Mrs is a Scot. I might have to marry her if Scotland do gain independence and remain in the EU.
  2. I take it back, I didn't even realise they were on, I thought you were joking @Bjornebye Nicola Sturgeon is miles better than Swinson, no idea what the Lib Dems were trying to achieve by doing this?
  3. It's frustrating because there's so much Shit you can throw at the Tories right now. The most obvious one is to point out that a party with a strap line of Get Brexit Done have failed to deliver Brexit at every turn with 3 different leaders in 3 years all failing to deliver on the referendum result. Sew that seed of doubt!
  4. It's a bit like when Darren Fletcher missed the Champions League final against Barcelona, and all summer, United fans talked about him like he was Keane and Viera combined, but then when the new season started he was actually just Darren Fletcher.
  5. The general reaction so far seems to have been one of neither leader doing particularly well. Lib Dems are probably the winner tonight.
  6. It's not actually that surprising. They have been shit in the league for almost the whole of 2019. Haven't they lost more games than they've won in the league this year?
  7. A few people have already answered the first part of this. Just to add that yes it's important to have influential media publications, that's what Labour have now with Momentum, but If Blair hadn't have sided with Murdoch, and had rained them in a bit, then this would have made Brexit less likely. As for pressure on the government about policies, only yesterday Johnson had to backtrack on putting corporation tax down to save money for the NHS, yet Tories always say that putting corporation tax down actually brings in more money. Also in April this year the Government had to bring the maximum stake from £100 a spin to £2 on FOBT'S in betting shops.

  9. This is the same sort of argument that Alastair Campbell makes. Do you think that Labour would have got in and stayed in if they hadn't sold their souls to Rupert Murdoch and co? At least by having the current Labour opposition it attracts new people in to politics and puts pressure on the government about the policies that they strongly support.
  10. Agreed. Labours plan is actually by far the most sensible, because it actually is a plan. The only reason nearly all Brexiteers are lining up behind the BJ deal is because they want to avoid any chance of remain and create a BJ deal vs no deal scenario in 12 months time.
  11. How can they do that though when 80%+ of the membership supports remain?
  12. If you wanted to see a debate between Farage and Swinson to work out who the next Prime Minister is going to be, I can help you with the answer to that?
  13. They didn't actually win it they came second to Millwall.
  14. The big difference between the two parties on Brexit; Tory; 247 (74%) of their constituencies voted leave. Around 75% of their membership supports leave. Johnson was formerly a pro European who joined the leave campaign and is acknowledged as helping the leave campaign to win. Labour; 148 (64%) of their constituencies voted leave. Around 80% of the membership supports remain. Corbyn is a Euro skeptic and seen as a reluctant remainer. In 2017 when both the parties had similar positions on Brexit Labour denied May a Majority because they had better policies. In 2019 Labour would have to either support BJ's deal, which would look stupid having voted against it, support no deal, which would look stupid having done everything possible to stop it, or go all out remain which wouldn't win them the election. You could put Ian Huntley in charge of the Tories vs a Labour lead by David Attenborough and Brexiteers would still vote Huntley in.
  15. We currently have all the Pro Brexit parties calling Corbyn a remainer and all the pro remain parties calling him a leaver so its no wonder he doesn't know what he supports.

  17. It was because of the way that Labour were winning these elections that has now lead them in to this position. They lost 50+ guaranteed seats in Scotland because of it. Imagine if Tony Blair didn't become Labour Leader in 1997, stayed in the party as an MP and became leader now. People say Blair would wipe the floor with Johnson, but how would incredibly pro European Blair win an election where Brexit is the main issue, on a similar Brexit campaign to the Lib Dems, with all his pals at the s*n etc not supporting him? One thing that is becoming clear in this campaign is that the working class Brexit voters care more about Brexit than anything else and will vote for anyone or any party that delivers it. The numbers just aren't there to win an election on a remain campaign. Which is probably why Corbyn was so reluctant to back it.
