Interesting quotes from Baby Keith here https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/conakry-anfield-how-naby-keita-14829351
In a few years I’d like to play for a really big club...
Oh, Naby why?
Although at least he is honest!

This is the thing for me that really annoys. Quite apart from his ineptitude other than tactically organising inferior teams, The man is a nasty cunt. We cotttoned on to it quite early which was a big part of why we just weren’t having him. If you’ve seen that motd interview knocking round that is him without the wise old man mask. Twat
This one?
Shows a, erm, different side here

It's not his entire game, but it's hard to ignore his upswing in form from when Villa were trying to build through their midfield, and then when Sherwood decided to aim everything at him no matter what the distance.
He came alive when he was being fed the ball at the earliest opportunity, particularly with aerial battles. We, on the other hand, have an abundance of AMs that you'd assume would be the first figures picked out by the defence / deepest midfielders. If we're going back to more counter-attacking then I think he may work out alright, but I can't see how we've shaped our squad for that.
I'd worry less if I didn't think we'd already shown an alarming inability to get even passable performances out of Lambert and Balotelli, neither of whom are anywhere near as shite as they've been made out to be.
Fair points. I just hope if he's coming then he'll be used as a busy, physical, fairly quick, mobile central role. I reckon he can make a bit of space, score a few, generally make some options for creative forward passes that are actually chances.
just trying to keep a 'glass half full' mindset in an increasing depressing set of circumstances.

That's the point I think, we're paying 30 million for something that could work out OK. We should pay what it takes for a world class striker, not one that's OK but one that is as good or better than Sanchez, Costa and Aguero.
I'd agree, but who? Sadly we don't attract/won't pay for the likes of those three right now.
Guess what I was thinking (but not saying very well) is He's not as one dimensional as some doom-mongers are making out. He's not the football-blind love child of andy carroll and emile heskey. Trying to have faith that it will all work out....
-
He may score from crosses but I don't think that is his entire game (unlike some other former forwards we unfortunately signed) he's got good ball control in tight situations (I'd not want to say good touch for a big man...) can go past people, has physical presence, and, unlike a certain young man who just left us can actual strike a ball - in a variety of ways. Actually towards the goal - some of them even go in!
I'm sure we will over pay, but actually it could work out OK.

To be fair their fans are making some noise. Fair play to them for that

Awesome video
That's great! Really liked the shot at the end where coutinho squares up to someone a full head taller than him and Lucas dives in to split them up. Kinda shows how fired up people are when they'll walk into that kind of conflict off the ball

It's all going to be fine. The blazers want to turn them into a travelling circus/ Harlem globetrotting set up.

Worth bearing in mind that we are due to pay him £14million+ over the next three and half years on his contact. Selling him frees up another chunk of the wage bill
The 'loss' from selling him is probably less of an issue; as currently we've lost £35m, if we can some back to spend on players the manager wants then...

Bruce and bookies?..............he won't answer that.
There was a great radio interview with him just after that happened on 5 live. They kicked off the 'chat' by asking him what it felt like to be the bookies favourite. This lead to a masssive pause, which was so long I thought he had hung up, then BG asking what was meant by that.
The interviewer quickly said they meant about hells kitchen. You could tell from all the unspoken stuff going on that it was all a bit close to the bone...
Its one of those 'you had to be there to see the funny side' type things but at the time I was laughing so hard I nearly crashed the van
*Shakes head* Everton again.
