  1. Maybe this is where our long trailed investment is coming from
  2. 1. Klopp is our manager 2. New Anfield Road Stand completed 3. Alexis McAllister is our new midfield dynamo 4. Curtis Jones has come of age and will be fucking great 5. Trent will ace it in his new position, look out world 6. Full preseason for Jurgen to work on the team 7. Nunez learns the language, second season renaissance 8. More signings to come 9. Salah still here to score the goals 10. New European venues to visit on our way to Dublin
  3. Too much pessimism. Signing McAllister for £35m is an amazing start, it's early and I get the impression Klopp is on it, watch us go 23-24 and FSG will be more than aware that the serious Champions league money follows
  4. None of us could figure out who was standing next to David James being interviewed for LFC TV pre-match in front of the Kop. Bald, bit tubby, must have been an ex-player but not the usual McAteer, Warnock, Lawrenson, Matteo etc. Saw a clip this morning and it's Charlie Adam! Barely recognisable from the svelte midfield dynamo dashing down the wing...
  5. It's beyond a joke now how often we get these manc twat refs. Taylor's stock method is to take no decisions, just let the play continue but in this game he's blowing for every slight contact knowing that Brentfords only real threat is from set pieces. Horrible baldy cunt
  6. Fucking love your reports, find myself nodding in agreement para by para. But I have to dissent about the overall feeling because that moment when Jota scored was right up there with some of the best celebrations on the Kop. Scenes. Sometimes you have to just live in the moment and having to endure the Richarlison pigeon walk, knowing what is coming with the Evertonians giving us loads and then we fucking score a winner, fucking hell
  7. Definitely makes sense now, having seen the positions taken up by Trent v Arsenal. We have seen him move higher up the pitch regularly but this game he was central and running the play. Daft thing is that Bellingham would have been perfect for this formation
  8. We all hate Leeds and Leeds, Leeds and Leeds and Leeds, we all fucking hate Leeds. Repeat several choruses
  9. Surprising that in all these (mainly) excellent and perceptive comments, there is barely a nod to the other behind-the-scenes factor that has been circulating most of the season and is still unresolved - the club's announcement of a partial or full sale. I would speculate that this uncertainty has influenced our on and off pitch recruitment, budgets, strategy etc etc. The club can brief all their media lapdogs as much as they like over Bellingham but there has hardly been a whisper for months on the ownership and so few questions on why Man Utd are running 3 rounds of bids when no-one has emerged for us.
  10. It's funny (sad) that the debate has turned from contempt at the owners for failing to splash £150m on Bellingham to a trolley dash for other players up to that spend. Won't happen
  11. I'm all in on Alex Scott, make it happen!
  12. Might be wrong, but the word is that Jude wants to come back to Premiership. Girlfriend etc. It's not over yet
  13. Personally, I thought Curtis Jones was excellent. Our best midfielder in the 1st half when it was tough, made tackles, pressed, always looking for the ball and finding space, tidy on the ball and creative when it mattered with the interplay for the crucial goal before the break. Frankly, he showed all the reasons why Elliott has not worked all season and I agree with Dave that he should play every game now for the rest of the season to see if he can consistently perform
  14. The original comments were on the Athletic in a Q&A after the Chelsea game but it's on a subscription firewall. I saw it on a link from TIA
  15. The earlier poster who said our remaining games are all about next season is partly right. Rather than playing like a team with nothing to play for, Klopp should have them motivated with the threat that they will be gone in the summer under his new revolution. I could put up with a few more defeats if we showed some signs of improvement in performance and a return to the team spirit and mentality of a Klopp managed side. Going from 7-0 v Man United at home to 0-1 v Bournemouth and 1-4 to Man C away is unacceptable. This season is strange because of the winter World Cup and it's not just us, there are others going through massive under achievement eg Leicester, West Ham, Chelsea. So we can give some of our lads who have served us proud before some slack, but the preparation for next season has to start now.
  16. I was brought up to never leave the game before the end and to this day, it annoys the fuck out of me to see any of our fans off early. It's not the Liverpool Way. I hate watching us on TV at home totally different experience than being at the match and I get far more critical of the players, more angry and judgemental.
  17. I still think it comes down to the midfield. Much smoke blown up our teenage midfielders recently but played together as starters against a low block defence showed up their tactical inexperience. Every pass went sideway and back, we were set in safe mode and couldn't find a way out. Our midfield is not comfortable on the ball in tight spaces and that massively influences the fluidity of the side against packed defences. But this is a Klopp team in transition and he will get it right, personally I think we will miss out on top 4 this season and provided the owners back him in the summer we will come roaring back next year
  18. Great summary, Dave. The zen factor is where we are, let's all stay with the manager and team until the summer when we will finally make some changes. Our last few years have been ace and provided we stick with Klopp we should enjoy the next few seasons as well when the belief kicks back in.
  19. No way should there be this sort of churn, crazy talk. There's enough players leaving on frees plus those we can't keep because they need to play. We have a major imbalance in the age profile of the squad, that's what needs fixing.
  20. Agree with everything there Dave, except the inexplicable award of MOM to Fabinho who continued his descent from the best midfield enforcer in the League to a scalp rubbing bewildered passenger
  21. JH comments suggest that they think there is still more value to extract from us than a full sale now. He confirms they have no strategic interest in owning the club "forever" but want investment. Looking more like they will sell a minority interest with a full sale on meeting defined targets
